I went to L&D last night and they gave me shots for antibiotics. Before the shots, I didn't know I even had an infection.

Today, my urethra hurts. Not just when I have to pee, but stabbing pains when I stand.

Does this mean the antibiotics are working?

Ouch. Did they tell you what kind of infection you have?

I wouldn't say it's a sign they are working but definitely sounds like a UTI.

No antibiotics dont make u hurt, the infection would though. Itll take a day or so for the antibiotics to start really working. Drink lots of water thatll help flush ur system of the infection. Hope u get better soon hun.

It's going take couple days for it to be completely flushed out. I took cranberry pills with my antibiotics. My doctor told me it would help flush it out, and was safe while pregnant.

drink 100% cranberry juice, and take some cranberry pills. It will help faster then antibiotics can. I have a medical issues that causes me to get them frequently and cranberry always kicks it faster then then antibiotics.

I'm drinking some cranberry juice right now. I just find it so strange that it didn't start to hurt until after the shot.

It's fighting the infection right now. Just drink as much as you can to flush it out. Hope you feel better.
