Wow.. I need to come on here regularly to keep up with you guys. It's hard with miss Layla. Yesterday she was NOT letting me get a break!

Good luck Danielle! One of my nurses in the hospital also told me that amniotic fluid has a smell to it (she didn't tell me what exactly it smelled like, but I had no idea it had a scent). You can always call the hospital and tell them what you're feeling or, if there's a hospital closer, you can go there and they can transport you to your hospital (what I had to do with my first pregnancy). Keep us updated!

Ayzya, she'll be here soon! It'll all happen so fast and once she's finally here you just won't believe it. :)

Miss Layla is a lot to keep up with lately. She's been eating more and more frequently as well, I really don't know if my b**bs can keep up. :? I had to give her formula this morning because she woke up before I could pump and I didn't have any breast milk left. It's frustrating.. I feel guilty for giving her formula (I had the pre-mixed Similac that the hospital gives you samples of) but it seems like as she's eating more, I'm still producing the same amount. :x And to think that just last week I was complaining about making too much. I'm trying to pump more often but it doesn't seem to make a difference. Grr.

But, on a lighter note.. Layla's umbilical cord finally fell off and she got her first bath last night. :) I was surprised she actually enjoyed her bath.. she's not one for being naked (I have to keep a blanket wrapped around her upper half while changing her diaper or she freaks out), but she didn't seem to have any complaints in her little tub last night. :)

Aww how cute.. I was about to buy one of those little bath covers just because I didn't want her to get a chill
bathluve_babybath_zps8478c0ac.jpg

but yeah I guess just putting a washcloth will work too without having to spend the extra dough just to make her look cute. :P

It is pretty cute though. But yeah I finally got my breast pump so I'm wondering how i'm gonna do too as far as saving up is gonna go. Are you feeding her every few hours or are you trying to give her some long stretches so she can nap? I don't know if I should just keep a strict 2-3 hour routine down so I can make sure I keep producing enough? I'm also worried about whether or not i'll be able to keep a good diet going as well. I tend not to drink enough water in a day so I'm gonna have to keep fighting those old nasty habits and force myself to eat better, exercise, and hydrate more. I'm grateful for all the after-tips you girls are giving me.

Stay on.the bfing. Supplimenting decreases ur supply especially in.the beginning so let her sit and suckle as much as.she wants, u can't pump as much as they r able to get out and ull continue to let down if she is feeding I know its hard but if u want it u have to he persistent.

She eats every two to four hours (depending on how much she eats) but even with the n****e shield she will not latch, she'll kinda hold my n****e in her mouth for a second then turn her head away. Even when I'm leaking, she doesn't care for it. I'll hold her there for a while and she just refuses to take it but the second I pop a bottle in her mouth, she sucks it down. I think the hospital holding her for so long is what did it (obviously, I couldn't be there to breast feed every time when she was 45+ minutes away), the lactation consultant at the hospital told me bottles are a lot easier than breast so Layla probably just doesn't want to work for it. This morning was the first time I've had to give her formula since bringing her home, I've had enough up until then (she's had breast milk all day today as well), I just hope I can make enough and keep it up with the pumping..

Aww mama, i'm sorry to hear that. That's one of the things I was always afraid of; that i'd have her too early and not be able to get the breastfeeding thing going. Poor thing. So you've talked it over with a lactation consultant and they didn't have any other tips for you? When she's really hungry she still doesn't really want to work for it?

When she isn't latching try squishing ur breast in ur hand and rubbing ur n****e on the roof of her mouth. This stimulates the suckle. Also try squirting a little in her mouth so she knows there is milk there and its not a paci.

Ya when DJ was in the nicu I wasn't having him not be breastfed so I lived there lol I was up within hrs of my csection against their advice to make sure he got b**b and my milk came in. Dont give up its still soon enough to make her transition k. It may also be the shields? I dont use them even when it hurts. (My skin is still pink and fleshy so the initial latch stings but after a min it goes away.) Trust that ur breast will calus and heal and it will adjust. Obviously I'm pro breastfeeding lol

so i ended up going to bed last night and the contractions calmed down a little. my appt was at 9 this morning so we just waited for that. the ultrasound went fine. dr said the fluid levels didnt drop really. but he did say that if i dont have this baby before he is sending me in on the 20th to be induced. my next appt is on wednesday. he said if i am where he thinks i need to be then he will just send me over on wednesday. but if i havent really progressed then he will just have me go in early on the 20th. so i finally have a light at the end of this tunnel. finally! still having bad contractions. they are getting stronger but they arent as close together for as long as they should be i guess. and unfortunately he didnt check me like i wished he would have. but w/e. im just happy i wont be pregnant for too much longer.

This has nothing to do with what we've been talking about on here, but I just had to vent for a second..

So.. my grandma decided she wanted to buy me a couch last night. I'm grateful, the couches we have suck! But.. I'm a wee bit irritated because she didn't really give me much of a heads up that she was for sure getting me the couch.. she called earlier yesterday saying she wanted to get me one, then called again saying she's getting it an hour before getting my mom to bring it over. What should have been a happy moment was nothing but complete stress.. my mom comes by with the couch, we have like two seconds to decide which of our couches we want to throw out, we don't have anywhere to put the couch we're throwing out, I had to reorganize my entire living room because the couch was way bigger than the one we originally had.. it was just a mess. On top of that, my mom tells me she has a couch cover so the one we keep can match the new one.. well my mom has no effing idea how to use this couch cover, I've never used one before so I have no idea, SO kept messing with it trying to figure it out and couldn't. My living room just looks like a hot mess now. Also, in the middle of me trying to reorganize my entire living room, my bookshelf completely fell apart beyond repair (it was one of those build it yourself ones from Wal-Mart). So now I have a broken book shelf on my front porch and a couch in my front yard, a giant, fluffy beige couch on one side of the living room (the new couch) and an ugly, green plaid couch on the other side (it's also tiny compared to the new couch and looks completely out of place). I'm just so irritated by the whole situation, I've been working on my living room lately, slowly getting things to make it an enjoyable atmosphere and I had FINALLY gotten it to where I actually liked the way it looked.. and now I just want to punch someone when I walk in here. Ugh. I'm happy we have a new couch.. but my living room just looks ridiculous at this point.

I'm sorry mama, family always means well but yeah they don't realize sometimes that we like to do things in a more organized fashion. Especially when it comes to the older generation; it's too difficult to say anything and we shouldn't really. So i'm guessing the couch cover doesn't come with instructions? Did she just have a random cover? Those things are awfully tricky to figure out. It took us ages to get it right so don't feel too upset about it, I don't know if you can try to look up a youtube video of somebody putting one together to give you an idea of how it works but that might be an easier way of figuring it out? Worse comes to worse, maybe you could move that other couch somewhere else if you have room for it and then just slowly add something else to your living room space or just leave it more open? Just don't overwhelm yourself with that for right now and just come back to it later on when you are ready so you can look at the space again with refreshed eyes.

Good luck to you too Mama! I know you'll already be at your appointment but fingers crossed for you and Whiteryn! I hope all goes well for you tomm! Just another hour and a half and i'm off to the docs. Ugh! Can't wait! I think I had some actual contractions start last night but they went away within a few hours. I think she is thinking about being ready but still not sure if she wants to stay and bake. I think my baby is just being lazy.
