I never went to the doctor to see why I had started bleeding again, but as of yesterday it has stopped (again lol). I'm thinking it might have been my period because I started taking BC at about 4 weeks PP, but I didn't feel crampy like I usually do. I know cramps can lighten up after having a baby, but after my last pregnancy I could still at least tell when I was about to get my period. :?

So how are the babies doing today? I'm at work right now and it was so hard handing Layla off to SO's mom this morning, she was being so sweet and cute! Lately when I have her on the changing table, I'll kinda zoom in on her face and go "aaaaaahhhhhhh MUAH!" and kiss her and she just smiles every time, I love it. I also dicovered this morning that if you talk to her in a normal voice like you're carrying a conversation with her, she loves it. I was talking about how I'm off tomorrow and we're gonna spend the whole day together and how she has her two month checkup and everything, and she was just staring at me with the biggest smile on her face lol she looked so interested in what I was saying. Yet if I talk to her in baby talk, she just stares at me like, "What are you saying to me, woman?"

Picture update!
Me and Layla this morning before leaving for work (I dyed my hair black, by the way!). This is what I call her "war face."

Her baby acne has finally cleared up! Now she just has a few patches of dry skin, but that BabyGanics lotion seems to be helping. :)

Cute!!

I am returning to work next week and dreading it!! I don't want to leave her. She's doing great though she's so happy. Still exclusively breastfeeding which I hope to continue when I return to work!

She's staying awake more. Nb clothes are tight now so we moved up to 3 month clothes and size 1 diapers.

She loves being on her tummy and being carried around to see things. And she is amazed by her brother lol she goes into a daze when he talks to her. It's cute :)

She's been sleeping good at night too! For the first month she was up every two hours to eat and now she wakes up only 2 times. It feels nice to get a stretch of sleep!

Aww, how many weeks PP are you? I returned at six weeks.. it went by too fast! But I'd much rather be at work than at home with her all day. I love the girl to death, but I can't just sit at home all day.. I'll lose my mind!

Layla hates being on her tummy lol, we're still working on it. I won't lay her flat on her belly because she freaks out, so I put her on her belly and have her leaning on the Boppy pillow so she can kinda prop herself up and look around. And I got lucky with her.. she's always been a good sleeper at night. She usually only gets up once in the middle of the night and some nights she just sleeps right through it and gets up when I get up. Normally on bath nights she'll sleep through the night (I only bathe her every other day because her skin is so dry). I've kinda been slacking on waking up with her in the middle of the night.. I think SO has gotten up with her every night this week. I feel bad, but the sleep feels so good! I need to tighten up and start getting up with her. We both work, so it's not like it's more fair for one of us to get up with her, but I think we should start taking turns because I don't want SO to resent me (although he claims he likes getting up with her because she's so adorable when she's all sleepy and grumpy lol).

I am 5 weeks pp. ill be just about 6 when I go back to work.

Id love to stay home for a few more months but its not realistic at this point.

I stayed home with my son for 10 months. It was great! With three now they keep me busy now!

Me and DH both get up with her. He changed her and I feed her. It works well.

This Friday i'll be 6 weeks PP, got my appointment tomm to get checked out. It's still been hard to go to the bathroom. I've been spotting but it's also mostly now due to my problem with #2 (sorry TMI). I do get a weird vaginal pain that is kind of a shooting pain that just happens randomly. Not sure what it is but i'll ask about it tomm.

I don't know how bad this is gonna sound, but sometimes Claire can sleep all night. Like yesterday she took no naps during the day and was super fussy; and then at night she slept all night without needing to wake for a feeding. I don't even bother waking her up either because I either am way too tired myself or because I'm convinced she's gonna wake up soon anyways and she doesn't.

Claire has shown some really awesome progress on smiling and her neck muscles are so strong! She does such a good job of trying to hold her head up and turning it from one side to another. She knows how to push up using her legs when I lay her on my chest and get into my sweet spot. She pushes her head under my neck and nuzzles in and falls asleep. Only problem is.. now she only falls asleep on me and doesn't like to lay down on her own.

Her smile and she looked like she was laughing.

Yeah, let me know about the sharp pains because I've been getting them too! It must be normal if we're all getting them (I wasn't getting them at six weeks, though, they came later).

I just got back from Layla's two month checkup.. she's 11.9 pounds and 22 inches long (was 9.4 pounds and 21 inches at her one month visit) and she took her three shots like a champ (got a few vaccines today). She cried as she was getting them and cried for a few seconds after but right when I popped the paci in her mouth she calmed down lol.

And why would her sleeping through the night be bad? That's awesome! Layla's been sleeping through the night too, it's great! I read that after two weeks you don't need to wake them for feedings, they'll let you know when they're hungry.. so don't feel bad! Consider yourself lucky and let her sleep and get yourself some sleep while she's at it! :D Layla will sleep for a solid nine hours some nights, I loveee it!

Ayzya, do you have a Boppy pillow? Layla has no problem falling asleep on that (although she's always falling asleep on me or SO), and once she does I'll usually pick her up gently and put her in her crib. So if you don't have one, get one! It could help her get used to falling asleep on her own.

Layla's doctor was telling me how within the next month she'll be starting (or at least trying) to roll over and using her elbows to hold herself up. Ahhh, I can't wait! It seems like it's too soon for her to be moving on her own  but I guess it's gotta happen sometime. I don't know if I'm ready though lol. I've been trying to be better about letting Layla have tummy time. She was on her belly for a while yesterday but didn't really do much, just kinda rolled her head around from one side to the other and whined lol.

And since we're on the subject of smiling babies.. here's some I took of Layla today! :D I was making these weird noises and kissing her and she was just loving it..

And I discovered she really likes this fuzzy red quilt we keep in the living room hahah, I had her all bundled up in it today (it was a little chilly in the living room) and she fell right to sleep in it lol.

Ahh crap.. totally forgot to ask about the sharp pains.. Claire was crying throughout the appt so it made me really distracted. Sorry ladies!

I tried to put on a size one diaper on her since I ran out of newborn sized ones since I'm sure she's 8 pounds by now but it was too big for her. She totally exploded all over her carseat because she hadn't pooped in a day and a half. Ugh!!!

My appointment checked out okay though. I opted to not go on BC since I can't handle any hormones; even the smallest dosage really messes me up.

And I love the pictures of Layla, Carmen. That one of her in the quilt is so freaking cute!! That's gotta be one of my favs aside from the one of you and her. :D

No biggie! I'm assuming the sharp pains have something to do with our nerves.. I mean, if we're all feeling it, it has to be normal.. and we DID just squeeze these chunky little babies out, so I'm guessing it's just our bodies recuperating.

Aww, sorry about the diaper explosion. Layla hasn't had a big one yet, although the first time my cousin came by to visit and meet her, she let out a pretty big poo and it leaked a little and got on my cousins shirt. But that's the worst she's had so far. I'm waiting for the day I go to her crib and find her swimming in a lake of feces. :? Sounds so gross when you word it that way hahah.

Did they give you a vaginal exam? I never got one. My PP appointment was pretty pointless.. the doctor just asked, "Are your blood sugars doing okay?" and when I told her yes, she just said okay and told me good luck with everything. She didn't even look at my log book with all the blood sugars written in it. I hate that clinic. They make me never want to have another baby (not that I plan on having another, anyways).

Have you never been able to take BC? I'm worried that I'm gonna get prego on the one I'm on now.. it's called Camilla (or Camila?) and it's a mini-pill. The BC I was on before I got pregnant was Ortho Tri-Cyclen and I never had a pregnancy scare with that (I stopped taking it when I got prego, Layla was kinda planned). It was the only BC I had taken before and it worked so well, so now I'm afraid that the one I'm on now isn't going to work as well. :? But.. I guess I could switch back to the Ortho Tri-Cyclen because my milk supply is completely dried out. Well.. I can get a few drops when I pump, but that's it. Between four days of pumping I only have two ounces of breastmilk saved up. :( It's pretty depressing, especially when people ask me if I'm breastfeeding or formula feeding and I tell them I was pumping but my supply has dried up.. they always go on and on about how I need to keep trying, it's best for Layla, etc etc. I know it's best for her.. but I can't MAKE my body do anything. I've been trying as hard as I can.. there's only so much I can do when I'm working full time and trying to take care of my baby. :x It's frustrating.

And thank you. :) I love that picture of her too lol it makes me laugh every time I see it. My mom and SO both said it makes them think of something from Star Wars hahahah.

Yeah I did get a vag exam. I don't feel completely healed up but she said I was healing nicely. I also forgot to answer your question about the boppy and yes I have one; but she doesn't like it. She always fusses when she's in it unless she's super tired then she'll just sleep in it. Only place that works out is in my arms to get her to stay asleep. She loves being held and bounced.

So yeah we don't do the BC at all, and have managed to just stay lucky so far. I think I was taking Ortho before as well.

Claire is really smiling a lot these days and its really amazing to see just how quickly she is learning. She's been trying really hard to talk. I'll have to post a clip up next time to show you guys what sounds like her first word.

Aww well.. It was on my cousins FB because she was the one recording. It was really funny because she says to her "Hi, can you say hi?" and she goes "heyyyy...." and it was just coincidental i'm sure. She was probably just making a sound but it sounded like she really did respond by imitating her. It was so weird!

Hahah, aww! It's definitely too soon for talking (but can you imagine how many questions they'd have?!), but that's too cute! I think Layla has been trying to laugh.. she'll smile and make this weird noise, it almost sounds like she's choking :? but I think it's just her version of a laugh lol.

And I got some adorable picture of miss thing earlier when I had her leaning on her Boppy during tummy time, I just have to share! I know I post too many pictures of this girl (I can't even tell you how bad my FB is), but I can't help myself. :)
