Exciting stuff seeing everybodies post about gender reveals, belly shots, baby stuff they've bought or been given, and really nice pictures of the ultrasounds posted. Yay!

I went to the Perinatologist today to get a consult regarding my high risk pregnancy and she was as lacking in information as my OB. Does anybody out there have an OB they don't really like? I always feel rushed through my appointments and at this point (17 weeks) is it worth changing doctors or just riding it out?

Always worth changing drs. No matter how far along you are. I had a crappy Ob with dd2 n my m/c. Soon as I got the d&c done had my follow up appt w her, I switched drs. Her waiting room time was 2-3hrs bc she books 4+ patients for the same time. See her for 5 mins. I loved the nurse staff though. Excellent surgeon she performs like 60+ csects a yr. My next Ob was great, 10-15 min waiting rm wait, never ever felt rushed, he would explain things to me, took his time, all of his staff was wonderful but he couldn't do vbacs so I switched around 10-11 wks or so.

Thanks, I am gonna call and see if I can switch. Hopefully next one will be better!

I'd.switch. I love both docs and although my perinatal doc usually has a 2 hr wait he spends 30 mins at least scanning u and is super sweet and anything he questions he researches for you! So I'd def find someone u like. My regular ob is amazing to! He has been my doc with all of my kids.

Yeah i've had a pretty lousy experience all this time. I will definitely switch doctors. Even the nursing staff gave me wrong advice when giving me my test results. She was not only unprofessional at how she told me but she was terribly misinformed. And my OB just dismissed my concerns of low Vitamin-D results on my labwork and i've come to find out that my Endocrinologist thinks it would really help my hypo-thyroid to take the supplements! I didn't even realize just how important it is to keep up your Vitamin-D and that its considered a hormone. I need somebody who is going to actually listen to my concerns and take the time to explain things to me rather than just ask me if I have any questions and reply to every one with a "that's normal."

Grr! :P

i had low vitamin D levels too !! which is super weird since i've never ever had that before.
I'm taking 1000mg of D a day now in addition to whatever is in my prenatal and calciumm pills.
must be some sort of pregnancy induced deficiency!

Hey ladies! Just thought I'd check in and say I've finally started feeling the baby kicking and hubby even got to feel a couple of kicks last night. ^-^ Our son seems to be most active in the evening and around midnight. Also, I have an anatomy scan on Tuesday...praying for news that our boy is still a boy! lol. Hope everyone has been doing well. :)

I am 110% with you! My cousin and I are only a few days apart she is praying for a boy (she already has 2 girls) and I am praying for a little girl!(will be my first) My mother is enjoying driving me bonkers saying its going to be a boy. The heart rate has been on the high side at around 160 (which is said to be a girl if above 140). I am 19weeks 5 days today I go in friday for my ultrasound! Send the Little girl prayers my way please!!!!!

Did anyone go by any of the "old wives tales" and have them be right?
Like heart rate, or if the baby is setting high or low? any of those?
