Quoting JiLLiAN.:" you never know. nut allergies are so bad in some people that a lot of schools have banned peanut butter and such. just being around it can make people react. you don't know.."

I heard a crazy story a while back that some guy died after he kissed his girlfriend who had just eaten a Reese's. My uncle is INCREDIBLY allergic to shellfish. Just breathing in the scent of it can launch him into an attack. He turns into shrek. Forget eating it...so scary!

Why would you people believe her? What is she getting outno lying about that lol?

You can be allergic to almost anything.
I was allergic to breastfeeding my daughter.
It was actually the hormones released while breastfeeding (oxytocin and prolactin) and thoes hormones TOGETHER are only present while lactating and nursing.

And no, that's not just an excuse for not
Breastfeeding. Even though I was allergic and it was miserable every time LO had a growth spurt, I still breastfeeding her for 2.5 years.
Dot call someone a liar of you dont even know.

Eta: wouldnt***** believe her lol

Out of curiosity, what were your symptoms? My OB, nurses and lactation consultant couldnt figure out why I was in SO MUCH pain during and several hours after nursing. They thought we were doing it wrong. Then they thought I had an infection but nothing solved the problem. I personally think it was the nipple shield combined with LO's VERY strong suck but I'm curious about your allergy...

When my milk came in, I got hives all over my boobs, chest, and neck. Then when my supply evened out it went away. Then every time senwould have a growth spurt she would nurse more often to up my supply, and I would get really bad hives all over my boobs and chest again. It lasted the first year of her nursing until she started solids and didn't nurse very often.
It sucked, the hives were severe and nothing helped. I couldn't even sleep it
Was so itchy.

Oh, that is terrible! Good for you for sticking through it though. I tried nursing through the pain but it was too unbearable for me. I felt really bad about it. I'm hoping to get involved with a LC before the next baby to see if we can figure out what the true problem might have been. My SIL is an LC but she lives too far away to help :(
