Are you telling him to eat his kid?

I had to read that a few times. I was a little caught off by it.

I don't know if I'd have him locked up or not. On one hand- he should be a sophomore in college, and what kind of gross perv that age fucks a what, 9th grader? Ick. On the other hand- he'd be labeled as a sex offender for life and maybe that's a bit severe, even though to me the age difference is inappropriate.

Damn. She'd be under close watch forever, for sure.

So you're making a decision to CHARGE him with RAPE (when it was NOT RAPE) based on his attitude?

That seems very spiteful.

But you can't be there 24/7! And you have to be teaching them to be an adult. Being up their ass isn't helping with the bigger picture.

I am for him having to step up should then keep the baby but it shouldn't be a conditional thing. Then to keep him out of jail she could possibly have a child that she is in no way ready for. Then what? Are you going to hold it over his head for the rest of that baby's life? How effective is that?

Hopefully Harlow learns from my mistake and that I can teach her and guide her to be responsible.. I don't like the thought of her having sex at all, and hopefully she doesn't until she's an adult but I know the reality and I just hope she won't be stupid about it.

In a lot of states, that age gap IS acceptable and the 15 yr old CAN consent! IMO if he didn't forcibly have sex with her, he should be charged with any kind of rape!

have not read all of the other posts but as a parent having anger and frustation get to you will not come with a positive outcome.... YOU have to realize that your daughter will not be able to support that child alone in the long run & that if she were ever to file for child support and he had to get a job and pay for child support that it would be more difficult and she may never see a dime because her parents had him arrested which in the long run would screw her over more then she already is financially.

I am not ignorant to parenting. The path I am on right now, my children will not behave in that manner. They will have more respect for themselves. However, if my child was blatently defying everything they were taught and every rule of the family, I would be there. Every single step. If they were skipping school, I would walk them from class to class. Embarassment might be a detourant. since my girls are 4 and my son is 2, I am pretty sure I have a while until I get to that point. As do you.

How would you handle the situation?

Okay, so you want this kid to walk on eggshells for the rest of his life over a bad decision when he was a kid? Jesus.

Honestly? Not like that. My parents did that shit to me and it only made me worse. I mean when the kid is a teenager, how much can you REALLY do that will be effective? I mean the best thing to do is to raise a kid right from the get go. Idk.

Idk. Here it's 4 years and the girl has to be 14 or older. And I think that's how it was where I'm from as well. I don't necessarily think he should get a legal punishment for it. Having the kid will be hard enough.

If he steps out of the picture, he has to pay CS. That's a huge burden. I have been on the paying side of it.

I tried (and failed) at making a joke. That i would report it if he was a dead beat but not other wise. Obviously, that's a ridiculous thing to actually do.
But really, if my child consented to the sexual act then it's not the 19-year-old's fault. It's mine, my husband's, and my child's and hopefully (assuming she chooses to keep it) he would be willing to help her parent the child they created together. But honestly, any teen pregnancy scenario is my parenting nightmare.
