Quoting ~*Flibbertigibbet*~:" Exactly. The more ignorance is perpetuated, the more people will become involved in b**m just so they ... [snip!] ... their partner because they think that's what it's all about. I honestly think the "Beauty" series portrays it much better. "

I'd never read Shades, but I love anything Anne Rice!

I read the first two books. I actually downloaded them all in PDF and haven't been able to bring myself to read the third one. I'm kind of in an "I really don't care what happens" frame of mind. It just hasn't gripped me.

If you're two books in already and you're not into it, I'd give up. Haha.

You're not missing anything. Seriously. Same principle as Twilight. Boring, mousy, chick turns hardened man into mush-even though he's a controlling son of a b***h. There's a pregnancy. They're all really rich. HAppily ever after. But with no fangs.

I totally did. I mean, it's not like they're a difficult read (unless you count "Ow my brain!! This sucks so bad...maybe it will get better...OOOOW!!!") so it didn't take me long to get through both books (like 2 days...seriously). But after the same sex scenes over and over (I'm not kidding...they're almost word-for-word the same recycled sex scenes...same reactions from both partners, same descriptive text...I basically became psychic while reading them because I could predict what was going to happen lol) and all the other stuff, I just decided the third book wasn't really worth the read. If the author couldn't handle writing a 3-part series that didn't all sound like the first part, then she should have just written one big book and fucked off lol.

Oh my god the sex scenes were sooo repetitive. I'm like, how inexperienced and repressed do you have to be to think this is edgy or hot? Plus, she's supposed to be like 21 &American and talks like a 50 year old british lady.

Cupping my sex, oh jeez. Gimme a break.

HAHAHAHA!! Right?? Well...that's because the author is a 50 year old British lady LMAO

"50 Shades of Twilight".

I propose that Edward and Bella are swingers with Christian and Anastasia.

Ana gets Edward up the ass with a strap-on. We all know he'd like it.

Agreed.

And then they can all hunt animals from Christian's helicopter for a romantic dinner.

I tried to get through the second (managed to get through the first). It was awful, and this is coming from someone who managed to get through Twilight, New Moon, and part of Eclipse.

I like Anne Rice's Sleeping Beauty trilogy, however. Some of those scenes turned me on...and that isn't that easy to do, lol.

I'm going to take that as a must-read now, then. Hahaha.

I'm not really into b**m personally, but I know a lot of people that participate in it. I think I could at least appreciate it.
