Women are attracted to men like their fathers? D&D Belle De Jour Due October 8 (boy); 2 kids; Kentucky 17885 posts

I've had this discussion sooo many times with other women and wanted to see what you guys think.
Do you think that women are bound to find other men that are similar to their fathers attractive?
Not because they want to date/f**k their dads (ewww) but because that's what they find safe?
In the last 6 years of being with SO I've found so many similarities with SO and my Dad. They both like Old Spice, same types of movies, think a lot alike, and yet hate each other
So what do you think?
Is your SO anything like your father? Have you ever heard of this? Or am I just weird?

My husband is not the typical guy I would have dated. Oddly enough, he is the only one I actually wanted to marry and have kids with. I was in long term relationships before and engaged a few times but, just wasn't feeling it. He is alot like my dad! lol

My DH is nothing like my father except for the fact that they are great providers for their family.

Yes and no. It really depends. I feel like when it comes to daughters, it's the fathers job to show her what a real man is. Be her example. So when she dates, she knows what to look for. A good father is the first man a daughter loves.

My husband is nothing like my father. My dad was an addict.

I would say probably it is true, hopefully moreso if you have a good relationship with your father. My dad is awesome. I would be very lucky to have a man like him. With that said, never did I think my hubby was like my dad UNTIL after we got married and now I call him Bob Jr... he is even almost catching up to the number of knee surgeries my dad has had with them both being insanely active with running and cycling and sports.

Although my father worked in the trades so he is much more handy around the house then my hubby who works in the medical field like I do, although my dad retired as an electrician and now owns his own Rehab/Sports therapy business which is what my husband does in health care. BUT my husband bless his heart is NOT handy around the house so I call my dad for stuff like that and secretly wish my hubby were, although he did put in a new kitchen faucet last week, which impressed me. Sadly I am handier then he is around the house.

Aw I love my daddy and my hubby!!! I guess at the end of the day that is all that matters!

I think so. My SO likes cars, is handy and can do things around the house on his own, is a family man, has the same outlook/perspective on a lot of things as my dad.

I don't think so. I never really got to know my dad but he was a real a*****e to my mom. DH would give me the world if he could. I say he's nothing like my dad except that DH was in the military and so was my dad. Well, they also both love guns too

I have heard people say women always marry their fathers, and it makes me vomit when they say it to me. My husband is an amazing person, even though I want to stab him sometimes lol
