Help! My 24 month old won't take naps! She asks to go to bed, gets all snuggled in with her blanket....and then just lays there and talks. I always think she'll just get tired enough and fall asleep, but it just hasn't been happening. In a day, she "might" sleep for a total of 2 hours off and on. Any thoughts or suggestions. Anyone else having this problem? I don't remember this with my oldest, but then again, that was almost 13 years ago.

This!

When they are tired they will sleep at that age and when they want to be awake they will be. They don't need all that sleep like they used to.

All 3 of my older kids stopped taking naps right around that time. We would still have quiet time, whether it was laying down in my bed and watching a movie or listening to music or just me telling them stories.

My grandma always made us kids do "quiet time". We didn't have to fall asleep, just had to lay down and be quiet! :)

My 23 month old still naps 2-3 hours a day. And still goes to bed at 8pm and wakes up at 7. My son, 6 today, will still nap on his days home for an hour or two. And will has great sleeping habits at night. I'm just lucky.
