This is a video of the Buffalo Springfield which had Stephen Stills of Crosby Stills and Nash as well as legendary Neil Young. If the band had stayed together could they have been as big as the Beatles. They did very well in their 2 short years together.

It might seem that way but this group were all around better musicians and singers though Neil young was not a good singer. The the quality of their music and songs it some ways were better than the Beatles. The 2 songs in the video are far from their best. The fact that almost all the members ended up in later supergroups or became solo legends such as Neil Young says something.

I love The Buffalo Springfield, Who knows what could have been. I think the Beatles had a lot going for them, more than just good music. They had looks, good marketing, good timing as well as changing with the times, and being original. So who knows if the Buffalo Springfield stayed together what could have been. If they would have been able to change with the times and keep making new and modern sounds like the Beatles did.

But I don't think they would have been as big as the Beatles

I LOVE the Animals

That song is a classic. I used to play it to death. Here is a video you might enjoy. This was a band called The Virgin Sleep from the time period of the Beatles however unlike other British bands they never came to America. This song is a beautiful classic which has the Sgt Pepper sound http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MLzag3G8Zuc

The Beatles were great but somewhat over hyped. I think what made them some big was there sound was new to America and the fact they were the first British rock group to invade America. I did find out that one of their opening acts blew them off the stage. A Boston group called Barry And The Remains
