DD is into everything and thinks she needs to have what she wants, I still don't block her from things though.

Quoting Sarah Bare-ah♡:" Exactly. And then sometimes you have SN kids who continue to explore into dangerous situations that neuro kids can distinguish."

:!:

If it's in the interest of safety I am certainly not going to rely on redirection and consistency, especially when children knowingly break house rules.

Maybe only mine do

Its not a "standards" because he would rather live in a trailpr park :? Its like.. . He's watched.to much TV. He thinks they will drill a hole into the wall and masturbate while watches us.

Ugh he's so weird.

Mine do, too. DD goes in the kitchen and puts the cat's food in his water. And DS eats all of the cheese :x

my daughter us 8 months old, i think it is more beneficial for her to explore without my hovering over her, hence the gates.

Plus i have 2 older kids, i cannot just sit and redirect all the time.

Haha yes. He says the dumbest shit. I personally wouldn't mind living in a duplex.

Right. My 8 month old needs to explore and learn but my
5 year old(3 on the development scale) cannot have free reign of things and I cannot focus on redirection every other second so yes. And I know thats typical to most families with more than 1 child.

I totally use babygates. Whatev.

I can't redirect DD while I'm in the bathroom trying to take a shit.

DH learned his lesson with that yesterday. DD got whole of paper towel that DS drew on,and dipped it in the cat water. The marker ink bled and dripped. She got covered. It was in the cat water, and he thought she got into like...poison. He had no idea what it was until I got home.

"OMG, it's everywhere, it's neon blue, it's on Bri, and I think the cat drank it!"

I would honestly prefer a trailer over a duplex, for the space. But Brett refuses  so, apartment it is.
