Quoting Alyssa's mommy [EBFT]:" Lol I was trying to guess if you randomly said that or if you saw my name on my page and were making ... [snip!] ... much of any since I left SO 2 years ago :/ (and those times were with him!) probably wayyyy too much TMI I'll shut up now lol"

Oh I'm right there with you!
My friend's name is Darryllyn, named after her dad, on top of that her middle name is Ardel.
Quoting Mum to a Monster:" My aunt is Claudia and my grandfather was Claude"
I LOVE both those names.
Dh nixed Claude - and we have no girls, but it is still on the "oh shit" list if we get another baby. :)
Quoting bananapancakes:" My friend's name is Darryllyn, named after her dad, on top of that her middle name is Ardel."
Have you ever noticed some people shorten a name strangely too. Like I know someone whose name is shortened so poorly I can't fathom WHY they chose THAT part of the name as the nick name. I also know a Chevonne (not the way she actually spells it) and they call her Chevy. Really? Not Vonnie? I grew up in motor city too - so people around here know a Chevy is a truck. :/
I don't find it weird. My brother is named after both my father and my mother which people think is weird that a boy is named after his mother. Its really not.
I am :) My middle name is my dad's first name---Lane.
<blockquote><b>Quoting Devil's Advocate:</b>" I know a couple; he is James, she is Jamie. No shit."</blockquote>
I know a couple. His name is Skye and her name is Skye. They're married now so they have the same name except for middle names :)
<blockquote><b>Quoting Alyssa's mommy [EBFT]:</b>" I think mixing up the dad's name in your daughters name is cute. I couldn't do that with my LO tho, her ... [snip!] ... name is Brandon Tyler Brenda Taylor is all I can come up with, and I think its horrid. Taylor isn't a bad middle name though"</blockquote>
I know someone named Stefania she was named after her dad Stefano. She had a son in May and also named him Stefano ( her father passed 4 years ago) I also know a Danielle who has a son Daniel.
My mum wanted me to name me Deanna after my dad but the next door neighbours kid was named Diana pronouced dee ar nah.
My sons middle names are after my dad and husband Dean and Antoni:-)
I don't think it's weird. Boys are named after their fathers all the time I don't see how girls can't either. That being said I don't really know any girls after their fathers
Quoting Devil's Advocate:" Some people find it unusual that my DD being a female is named after her father. Are you (as a female) ... [snip!] ... you (as a female) or your daughter named after your father? Do you know a female who is named after her father? Please share :)"
I kind of am named after my father via middle name. My father's name is Kevin and they, my parents, made up a name that sounded like Kevin and used it for a middle name. It is rather uncommon, but I like it. It rhymes with Siobhan.
I have a friend that's name James... and she's named after her Dad that passed away before she was born. We call her Jamie :D
And I know a boy named Ashley named after his Grandfather (Ashley is orginally a male southern name)
And I also know a guy named Jesse Lynn and he's named after his mother & grandma..
