What would you do? Pistol Amber 33 kids; North Carolina 6616 posts17th Dec '12
So my ex DH has been discharged from the Army as of Dec 3rd. I just got the certificate in the mail today for my son from Tricare saying that he is no longer enrolled. The certificate is for his next health insurance in case he has any pre-existing conditions. The thing is I have not heard from his father since the middle of June, and I am sure he has left the state to go back and live with his mother. So for now no child support, no health insurance, no phone call just nothing. What do you think your next move would be? I am going to get him enrolled in medicaid, I have all of the paper work turned in just because I had a feeling this was going to happen (he got into trouble for beating his second wife her and I are in contact). Should I just ignore him and let child support enforcement catch up with him or should I talk to a lawyer about maybe getting his rights terminated. I talked to a lawyer last year and she said it had to be a year of no contact with me or the child, but with him leaving the state and no word, not even a warning about what is going on I am not sure what to do anymore. TIA

I'd go ahead and apply for medicaid. If you want his rights terminated I'd persue that as well if it's been a year.

Quoting Fatty McRunnerPants:" I'd go ahead and apply for medicaid. If you want his rights terminated I'd persue that as well if it's been a year."I have until next June I guess, we almost made it to a year once before. I had him in June of 2011 and we did not hear from him until May of this year for a visit. My lawyer told me to go ahead and let him have him, if I denied him it would look poorly on me. Thanks for the advice.
