Measuring too small? ♥Noah's Mommy♥ 1 child; San Antonio, Texas 1539 posts

I had my doctor's appt today and he said I'm measuring too small and it got mea littleworried. I'm 35 weeks pregnant but I'm measuring at 31.. he scheduled me to come in for an ultrasound next week.. but thats a whole week of me stressing about it. :( The heartbeat was normal and I can feel him moving around so I know he's ok but I'm sill concerned. At all my other appointments, the measurement has always been right on target until today. Has this happened to anyone else?? and do any of you ladies know what exactly "measuring small" could mean? Like what type of complications would involve a baby measuring smaller?

Don't worry, that happen to me too with my baby. She just ended up being two weeks late (you prob hate hearing that). Sometimes people ovulate later than others so your baby's sizedoes not coordinate with the date of your LMP. I am pregnant again and the baby is measuring small again so I am planning to carry this one late. Good luck to you!

I measured small by 6 weeks at one point. She ended up being 6 lbs 14 ozs and was a little late. She was completely healthy. The doctor even complimented me on how healthy she was. You may just have a baby a little on the small side. I'm sure it will all be ok. You have also probably dropped by now, which sometimes makes you measure smaller than you should. I know it's tough, but try not to stress. Good Luck!! :)

I had my dr appt yesterday and was told the same thing. I measured fine except the last two appt. and he said it could be the baby being low or because I am a small person. But of course they thought my first was going to be 5-6lbs at full term and just at 37 weeks he was born 7lbs 1 oz. so, there is a good chance there might not be anything wrong or they could be wrong about it. I would just relax until the u/s I know easier said then done, because I am anxious about minetomorrow, but try not to think about it.

Belive me I could go into along story with me.......but its fine...........dont be so worried if sumthing was wrong with the baby the dtr wouldve told you. Maybe they just got your due date wrong.........or your just having a tiny baby......they said the same thing to me and both of my kids were over 8 pounds. And this one is measuring right.............so you never know.

Thank you all soo much for your answers.. they made me feel a little bit better. I"ve been worried all day and night over this. I guess I just have to wait patiently until I get my u/s next week and try not to drive myself crazy lol I know it is possible that he might just be small because I'm only 5'1 and pre-pregnancy I weighed 115.. so I'm hoping that's all it is. Thanks again ladies :D
