Quoting Squeaky McGee:" I went to the ER for a miscarriage (my OB told me to) and it was $1000 for the hospital bill and $500 for the physician bill. All they did was draw blood!"

With my miscarraige back in 2010 they did a sono and I had to have an IV and they sent off my baby to the lab for something and I had two seperate bills from that and I'm still paying on it.

Quoting Laventure_Adventure:" You might actually be able to call Chip and see if they are able to help with the bill at all. Sometimes ... [snip!] ... bill at all. Sometimes they can pull a few strings to help others out. I can't guarantee they will but it won't hurt to call."

Think I'll give them a call, I hadn't thought to ask them. They had a stamp on this saying it wasn't a bill but well I can't wrap my head around the fact that it's that high.

<blockquote><b>Quoting Squeaky McGee:</b>" Y'all are freaking lucky! I can't imagine NOT having to pay an arm and a leg for medical services. And with this new Obamacare, we get to pay even more. Yay!"</blockquote>

We still pay in a way. National insurance contributions are automatically taken out of our wages along with our tax. So everyone contributes but still its not a lot. Maybe

Only thing we have to pay for is if your get an ambulance. But that's only if you don't have an health. Are or pension card. I couldn't imagine having to pay. Even for the doctors don't have to pay.

<blockquote><b>Quoting Squeaky McGee:</b>" Yeah, I'm pretty sure we have to do that now, but we still have to pay for private insurance if we have it. At least, that's the way I understand it."</blockquote>

My SO pays for premium coverage and it covers 100% medical(medicine etc.) 10 chiropractic visits, 10 massages, 10 acupuncture and 100% dental. It get taken off on his pay check.
If you just want regular coverage it gets taken off your pay but it doesn't cost much.
We do have to pay for an ambulance($150) and that's about it.

An ambulance ride here is upwards of a thousand dollars.

I don't like to talk about our healthcare system. It makes me angry.

We have a lot of people cross the boarder to get health care here.
