Agree 100%! My hubby went for his gun license and passed but wouldnt give it to him because he had been charged for something minor thst didnt involve guns in anyway. Which is good! Im glad police ect are extra cautious about it over here.

I totally love George Takei. Those are pretty much my feelings on the matter as well.

You do need a permit to carry a weapon, and you do have to abide by basic laws, I.e. don't use your gun to shoot someone. These are already things in affect.

I do believe that people should need a license and go through a class for guns. And why anybody needs a big gun like that is beyond me.

We have quite a few guns in our house, like over 15. Some semi-autos. All are kept in a safe. They aren't mine they are my husband's. I am all for gun control. When my husband can sell a gun in a grocery store parking lot simply because another guy has an in-state driver's license (legally), I have a problem. When my husband can send a gun through UPS to another state to "himself" (legally), I have a problem with that. When a person needs to pass more tests to drive a car than own a handgun, I have a problem with that. My husband and all his redneck friends would disagree.

I agree. There should be a waiting period as well for guns

If you can find a bow or a knife that can do as much damage as quickly as one of those guns, I will say that yes, actually, they should.

That wasn't the point. There are people who believe regulating guns at all is a no-no.
Another argument is that we should have anything our government has as well; it's our constitutional right. If that's so, why can't he have his jet? Why can't citizens have their own drones? Etc...

Also, did you know you can go to a gun show and buy these weapons and not follow some of the rules?

I agree. I was stating that bows and knives can be dangerous as well.

But also criminals will find a way to get a gun whether we make them get a license or not. Adam Lanza was 20, illegal for him to legally get a gun but he got one from his mother. Who should not have had that kind of gun

And do you think you won't be able to buy a gun just as easily if the rules are more strict?
