Quoting Alyssa's mommy [EBFT]:" Lol he's 20 months, it's usually only he gets up from his nap or sometimes when I open his diaper and ... [snip!] ... I changed a newborn boy and it happened I was so freaking confused, I had no clue that even happened. I had to google it :/"

LOL!!! Boys = b***rs. From birth... My son rarely gets them but still lol.. He had a big ol one today and I pushed it down when I was putting his diaper on and he just smirked like he knew exactly what was up.. literally.

I actually had a family member comment on how I clean my daughter during changes. I wipe the outside, then quickly wipe on both sides of the labia. She was like "uhh you only need to wipe it once, why do you clean it so meticulously?" my response? "Would you want poo smeared in your vagina?" If I don't she could get a nasty infection from any poo up in there, and that nasty cheese stuff would build up on the sides of the inner area. It's sad that some people's insecurities get in the way of making sure their children have proper hygiene.

I would think that if he wants to do it then it's fine to let him, but not a requirement to keep doing it in order to clean it. Just a guess, I have no experience in that area.

I commend you for not circ'ing him. I was on the wall about the whole topic but now have decided that if I have a son he will remain intact. Watching my old roommates 2mo old suffer due to a later circumcision (they didn't have the money at birth) was enough to sway me. It was so bad the dad would have to hold the top of his body down, and called me in to hold his legs down while the mom cleaned it...I cried.

I'll never circ.

That is sad.

Sometimes I feel like I'm cleaning my 3 yr old wiener too much, but his ball sac is wrinkly and if I don't clean the creases, there's poo residue. Gross. Just have to do what you have to do. Part of eing a parent.

My husband's going to have a hard time if we have a girl. He was abused so stuff is hard for him. I'm sure he'll get over it pretty quick. But yeah I wouldn't want poo in my lips either!

How is he with changing your son? I was abused too but don't seem to have any lasting issues with it which is good. It was only twice in my life so I'm sure the damage is much less than someone who would be repeatedly abused.

He's fine changing him but he won't take a bath or anything with him. He has to have at least shorts on around him or he gets upset and really uncomfortable.

Quoting ♫ boobook ♫:" I think my sons foreskin reattached itself is that a problem? I was helping my 5 yr old in the shower ... [snip!] ... about? Please don't comment if you have no intact sons.. UNLESS they were intact but had to be circumcised for medical reasons."

OP here is some info for you : Foreskin was retracting now it is not? (From Dr. Paul Fliess)

Sometimes a previously retractable foreskin will become resistant to retraction for reasons that are unrelated to impending puberty. In these cases, the opening of the foreskin may look chapped and sting when your son urinates. This is not an indication for surgery any more than chapped lips. This is just the foreskin doing its job. If the foreskin were not there, the glans and urinary opening would be chapped instead. Chapping is most often caused by overly chlorinated swimming pools, harsh soap, bubble baths, or a diet that is too high in sugar, all of which destroy the natural balance of skin bacteria and should be avoided if chapping occurs. The foreskin becomes resistant to retraction until a natural and healthy bacterial balance is reestablished.

You can aid healing by having your son apply a little barrier cream or some ointment to the opening of the foreskin. Acidophilus culture (which can be purchased from a health food store) can be taken internally and also applied to the foreskin several times a day to assist healing, and should be given any time a child is taking antibiotics.

baby b***rs are the devil's business. I get so blushy when that happens I try and clean him and put his diaper on as fast as I can. He just looks at me like "are you aware of what's happening here? let's not make it a bid deal" lol

Baby b***rs dont bother me any. I mentioned it once, and my husband didnt believe me , saying babies didnt get b***rs. I was excited to prove him wrong. No worries in that department, my youngest has them all the time.
