We didn't set a date until January this year. We got engaged on my 18th birthday, I'm 21 now lol. Life gets in the way and we weren't in a rush. Now we're getting married in 2 months!

Aww congrats. :)
My first marriage was almost two weeks after my now two year old was born. We were married at the Courthouse and I never got an engagement or wedding ring. It ended badly because he couldn't put down the drink or get a job. Not to mention the unhealthy level of jealousy.
I wanna wait at least 3 4 years this time. While I truly feel that Drew is my soul mate, I wanna be absolutely certain. I don't wanna divorce a second time.

That's one of the reasons SO and I waited so long to get married. He proposed on my 18th birthday, I was 5 months pregnant and we had only been together 9 months. We felt that we were in it for the long run but we wanted to see what we would be like together with a baby first. Then I got pregnant a second time so we put it off again. Then we went through a rough patch and now that we are really sure that we can make it through, we are going for it.

Aww hoping that you guys do. :)
I figure when I finish junior college would be a good time perhaps. My divorce should have been final in October and will be after my appearence in front of a judge in January. Filed in April. It's such a huge pain in the ass. I'm in no rush to jump into it again because of how hard the process of getting out of a marriage is.
but Drew (Fiance) completes me. I never truly have been in love before him and I say that with the honeymoon faze being over because things aren't always perfect.

I feel like my situation is so similar. We had been together about the same amount of time when I found out I was pregnant.
We click. and I'd like to believe I'm a lot wiser at nearly 22 than I was at 19 when I married my ex because he was the father of my daughter. Looking back on it, I can't even think of one thing I like about him besides my daughter.
but I figure by the time I finish junior college in 2017 or so and we are still making it work, it may be the right time. Then again I'm scared because taxes screw my mom and step dad come tax time every year for being married.

We got engaged Oct. 2010 but had already started plnning a wedding for July 2011.
I called it off in March 2011 because I realized we were living a lie and I needed more time before I married him. He was a drug addict and I ended up leaving Dec. 2011
We got back together this August after he finally cleaned himself up and we are so happy together we're getting married in 41 hours!!!
We now know we can get through anything and still want to be together. The baby I'm pregnant with isn't his and he is not even hesitant at all about giving him his last name and raising him like his own. I figure if we can get past a heroin addiction and an 8 month break up we can get through anything :)

My ring is my dream come true - once he whipped out the Tiffany box, I was ecstatic but nervous as I knew I wasn't into all their settings.

But once the box opened, I was just taken aback at the beautiful ring he was about to put on my finger, I couldn't wait to say 'yes', and my wedding band is equally beautiful :)

Both our rings, a bit blurry but you get the gist :)

Aww so excited for your up coming wedding. :)
Stories like that make me realize just how unacceptable
my ex husband's refusal to give up drinking was.
Heroin addiction is one of the hardest to over come, with a high rate of relapse in users. but yet your soon to be husband put that behind him because he realized what is really important in his life.
My now two year old daughter is my ex husband's and therefore not Drew's. but he still accepts her as his own. Spends hours playing with her and teaching her stuff on flashcards. When she first started calling him daddy, he'd correct her. but since my ex hardly comes around he has stopped bothering. She usually calls him by his name, but when she slips up he says nothing now.
He was badly abused and neglected as a child, and was told by a doctor that his low sperm count made it unlikely he'd ever get anyone pregnant. He was tested after his ex and him were together 5 years and their repeated TTC yealded no results. So my daughter's love for him warms his icy heart he says. and he's over the moon that that doctor was clearly mistaken.
Is your son's biological father out of the picture? One of those rebound situations best forgotten? It's so awesome your soon to be hubby is raising him as his own. Just like my step dad has done with my 10 year old sister since she was 9 months old.

My parents have two children plus other family member dependents. Together they probably make about a hundred bucks a year together before taxes, so I don't know why tax time screws them so hard. They haven't gotten a tax return in at least two years. Had to pay in fact.
