I did not have an elective csection with my daughter, but I did have to have an emergency one. It was at a horrible clinic, with people who had no idea what they were doing. I'm also allergic to 99% of pain killers. No it was not easy, but it had to be done. The first day was terrible, coughing, sneezing, laughing was excruciating. But so is 10+ hours of active labor when you DON'T have a myriad of health issues. I was sore for a week and that was that. I barely even remember anything about it. I never once regretted the fact that I had to have one.

My bestfriend and sister both had VB babies recently. They both ended up with atrocious horrible things happening to/in their vaginas afterwards. No.Thanks.

My doctor said that because of my recent surgery on my stomach, I had the option. I am definitely leaning towards an elective csection, even considering my problems with pain killers.

My first was an emergency and I don't really remember a lot. My 2nd and 3rd we're scheduled. Can't really decide which was worse - a lot of different things happened with 2nd and 3rd. Better knowing what's going to happen, honestly. But, that's not how I wanted my Babies to be born, that's for sure.

I have a high tolerance to painkillers because I am 21 now so I have been on them for nearly 10 years. Someone I know had third degree tears that does not sound fun.

Which did you have to do? I have a bulging disc, a thinned disc and one leaks fluid that I was told acts like acid on my nerves and causes a lot of my back problems :-\

A tear is still better than your stomach getting cut open
