My poor little Manuel was diagnosed with having group B strep. He is only 7 weeks and they told us we almost lost him. Really hope we can go home soon!! Anyone been through this with their little ones? How fast did they recover?

There's still a slim chance they can even if you get the antibiotics.

They tested me and it was negative. The doctors told us they think I developed it after 38 weeks. I hate that they didn't catch it with that test. By the time we got him to the hospital he was in respiratory failure when a simple does of antibiotics to me could have prevented it.

I havent been through this exactly, but when my daughter was 15 days old, she had surgery.

We were at the hospital for 3 days and it was extremely scary...

I dont know EXACTLY what you are going through, but i know how scary/unbearable it can be to watch your helpless angel get poked and jabbed and prodded with needles...

She also wasnt allowed to eat for 5 hours before the surgery because of the anesthetic...So i had a 2 week old infant screaming her head off because she was starving, and mommy was HORRIBLY/PAINFULLY engorged because her crying was ramping my milk up.
I was leaking EVERYWHERE...it was horrible.
I was crying, she was screaming, daddy was crying...

Then when i actually got her to sleep, it was time to go in to the OR. The moment they took her out of my arms she started crying again. Screaming...

I started crying...almost collapsed...i wanted to run after them and take her back...

I really hope everything works out hun <3

Thank you so much. I swear every time he tries to rest he needs IVs or blood drawn. I feel helpless.

i know that feeling. Im so sorry hunny. Its a mothers instinct to want to rip someone limb from limb when they wake your baby up, or do something that brings them pain. its So hard to suppress that instinct.

Good luck <3 When does he get to go home?
