Too early or chem pregnancy?! Mackenzie&Me 1 child; North Carolina 121 posts

I took a test last night and finally got the BFP I've been waiting for!

Went to the Dr. this morning since the positive line was so faint. They did a urine test, blood test and ultrasound and I'm definitely pregnant but the concern now is that nothing is showing on the ultrasound.

It could be too early, or they said it could be a chemical pregnancy.

Has anyone experienced this?

I'm worried.

If you only just got a BFP nothing would show up on an U/S.

I had that I had to go back a week later and they found it with the thing they put inside of you cause it is easier to pick up really small things with it.

thanks for the replies. i haven't even missed a period yet. i can't be more than a week or so pregnant.
i go back to the dr. monday. they said my hcg levels should have tripled by then and they'll be able to see how far along and make sure everything is ok.

I've heard that from lots of people and it def makes logical sense....why in the world would they even be doing an ultrasound right now???

I was questioning the exact same thing. My doctor never orders one before six weeks. The best thing they can do right now is repeat betas to make sure your numbers are rising.

I've been wanting to get pregnant for a while now so being so shocked and happy and then have them tell me there's a possibility it's an etopic pregnancy has really scared the crap out of me.
Trying to stay positive but still not get my hopes up too high I guess :?

They most likely only mentioned the possibility of it being ectopic because they couldn't see anything on the u/s even though they shouldn't be able to see anything yet. Wow. What kind of doctor is this? Please tell me they at least ordered bloodwork.

I was telling the Dr. too that when I took the urine test myself, the positive line was faint, then they did one, again, faint.
I explained to them I had taken a pregnancy test just maybe a week and a half before this and it was negative.
They still for some reason were thinking I was like months pregnant.....makes no sense.

Sorry, yes, they did do a blood test and said my levels were too low (350) to tell how far along I was and that they should double every other day, so they're checking them again Monday.

Oh my gosh, FACEPALM. 350 is WAY to low to see anything by u/s. Why would they try to scare you for no reason like that? :(
