I would be really turned on. Kindness and compassion are in the top 5 things I look for in a partner. I almost always manage to come up with a couple bucks to give to someone who asks, I'd love my man to be willing to do the same.

I wouldn't be mad. He'll just have to run out again to the store.

Quoting Momma Rawks:" No, not unless we were super tight on money and needed the $10 for food or gas. But if he was forking ... [snip!] ... forking out $10 to every person who begged for money, and tossing out $50, $60, $70 a month to others, then I would be upset."

This. Giving excessively would upset me. But giving some money... nah, I dont mind.

I give money or food to some homeless. I will never forget one man that looked SO down on life and when I handed him a 10 he looked upset, looked down, and said "Thank you very much" kept looking at it and then put it in his pocket. You can tell he was a proud man down on his luck. I got him a sandwich and took it outside to him and we gave him a blanket we had in the car for emergencies. It gets cold here at night. We struggle at times, but we still have a house to come home to and food... therefore we help others down on their luck. Its a lesson I hope I instill in my daughter.

She actually is very giving. She wanted to donate some of her money she earned to people that are poor and I wouldnt let her. I DID however give my money to her to donate. It just amazed me that a little 8 year old wanted to give up her money (and toys as well) for people that dont have it. Shes a good kid.

No he was upset with me we're allot better of than we were at the begging of the year better jobs and money coming in etc. I just felt giving back would be nice.

Quoting ❥New Beginnings:" Would You be mad at your SO if they gave money to a homeless person without your consent? For example ... [snip!] ... saving money for a bus ticket and a night in a motel room and is only $8 short. So your So gives her $10. Would you be mad?"

of course not. Does he work? are you married? as long as he had it to give... no problem.

Quoting Devil Duckie:" yes. It's a scam. There are plenty of fast food joints gas stations etc. that will hire almost anyone. ... [snip!] ... something new. I never give to beggars. I might buy them a bowl of soup if I have the extra cash, but I never give them cash. "

There is a man here that literally lives under a bridge about a mild down the street from me. He lives under the underpass and has blankets to make the 4 walls of his house, battery operated lights, all his belongings in a cart, and a dog. Its like a house (chairs and even a thrown away couch) and all. He really lives there. Very sweet man, but he is dirty and such. He doesnt have a place to live. You mean to tell me that its a scam.... that the McDonalds across the street will hire a dirty, unwashed man there? I dont think so. My Mom and I have seen him there for about a year. We actually think he died or something happened to him.... he was very sick when we last saw him (we gave him some medicine) and we truly believe he had pneumonia. We havent seen him around town lately. Hopefully hes okay but we know damn well the poor old man didnt have a place to go. So its a scam since he couldnt work?

Not all people are scamming others. A lot do, but not all. A LOT of places wont hire someone that cant even afford to take a shower.

That's my opinion on it, even if it was a scam my inte thoughntions were good and shed get what's coming to get eventually. I truly feel she was being honest. She was so fearful her fave lit up and she almost cried and asked for a hug.

We have people like that here too. They will go into restaurant rest rooms and try and clean up the best they can...some will do odds jobs around places for food and such but live under the overpasses to the freeways.

When it gets too cold here (doesn't happen often) we actually have people go around and pass out blankets if the people don't want to go to a shelter.

This is the way I feel as well. As much as lots don't like to admit it the homeless are looked down upon as if they are not as good humans. Most employers won't give a job if you can't list an address so those with one one get screwed by default :(

I wouldn't be mad, I would think it was sweet.

The only ways I would be mad are if the person were a known scammer and I felt SO was dumb for getting suckered, or if it was like our last $10 or something.
