I'm 39+2 and am so so ready to have this baby already. Iv had cramping and BH for just over a month now, and all day today iv been having contractions about 10-12mins apart and last anywhere from a minute to around 90 seconds.
While they are getting rather painful, they aren't getting any closer together :(
Saw my doctor today for my 39wk check up, and she said to wait until they are 5mins apart, and strong enough that I can't talk through them.
I'm kinda annoyed that she didn't do an internal to see if there was any dilation or if I was thinning or not....I'd like to hope that these contractions are doing something down there.

Any suggestions apart from the usual on how I can get things moving along?

'Well this is my first pregnancy and I'm not due until almost a month after you :/ but walking should help, try stretching. Basically get active, I read online that if you massage your ankles and feet there are certain pressure points that can get it started. I don't know how true that it is but I guess worth a shot esp when you sound like your right around the corner from going in to L&D (: GOOD LUCK hope something works for you!
