Play off her cues. Cool dinner for her. Check in on her often. Don't abandon her or avoid talking about it.

Let her know you're there for her, ask if she needs anything

Let her know you are there for her, offer her your help, ask if she needs anything & most of all lend her a shoulder to cry on if she needs it. :( I am so very sorry for her loss, it is heartbreaking that any mother has to bury her child.

so sorry for your friend's loss :( It really depends on her what she will need. If she has other children, offer to take care of them for a day...ask how you can help her. Make sure she knows she can ask for help and that it's ok. She will not want to cook or clean or do anything for awhile. Some people like to be alone, others need people around. The biggest thing is ask and keep on asking/texting/calling. make sure she knows you are there and thinking of her and her family! You seem like a great friend to be seeking advice. Also...as the year goes on remember those important would be milestones. I was so heartbroken when not one person said anything on the 3 month mark. It means so much to get an anonymous card in the mail or a simple text! Don't worry about reminding her because her baby will always be on her mind.
