I'm beginning to think .t a y l o r. 3 kids; Indiana 3847 posts

I'm the only person whose 2.5 year old isn't potty trained and whose 15 month old isn't walking.
Autumn (2.5) was 8 weeks premature, but she's caught up and then some. She's such a smart little bug.
Sophie was 6 weeks premature and she's getting there, but is refusing to walk fully.
So, I don't think it has much to do with their prematurity.

I know, everyone develops differently but I can't help but compare them to what I see posted on here and my Facebook and feel like I'm doing something wrong (not for lack of trying, I've done everything I can to help them. I've been letting them be and letting nature take its course for a bit now). Ugh.

Booo to feelings, lol, I needed to vent.

I'm still working on getting my 3 year old fully potty trained. He is so lazy and stubborn when it comes to the potty

I wouldn't say that I considered my daughter potty trained until she was 3

DS is 26 months and has no interest whatsoever in the potty either. He didnt walk until about 14 months and even then it wasnt very good lol. And he can't say alot like "most" kids.

I feel ya on trying to not compare them to other kids. Its so hard not to, even though you know they'll do their own then when they are ready.

Don't feel bad. DD was 9 days overdue and she didn't walk till after she was 15 months old and she will be 2.5 on Jan 19th and she isn't fully potty trained yet. It takes time.

My one kid walked at 9 months! :D hehe. If the doc says there isnt anything wrong.... Then who cares. My mother had my daughter when she was 2.5-3 and was not potty trained. I got her back to my house and practically yelled at her that we're wasting so much money on diapers and that we could buy nice things instead if she would use the bathroom. It really worked! just ask her every 2 min if she needs to go to the bathroom.

Thanks for making me feel better, ladies :)
It's just hard because I KNOW they're both smart enough to do the things they're refusing to, lol. Like, Sophie will walk short distances (like 5-10 feet). And Autumn knows and loves her potty and thinks the underwear we bought her is the bee's knees, but would rather sit in poop than be a big girl.

SS wasn't potty trained until after he turned four, I really wouldn't worry about it. As for the walking if the doctor doesn't seem concerned I would try not to worry for now. Have you tried having her use walking toys?
