I feel like my son is stupid or something. Well not really, because I know he isn't because he's a smart little turd. Heck I told him to go take a bath the other night and he scooter half way across the house to his dad in the bathroom to get in the bath.

But.. here's my thing, and I know every baby is different... he's 8.5 months not crawling on his knees yet, didn't started rolling around the house until well after 6 months, didn't sit up great until about 6.5 months, he hasn't shown an interest in pulling up, and if you hold him with his hands up when he's standing he won't take a step. I see all these kids waaay younger way more advanced and I feel crappy. Someone please tell me their baby was slower like this too and mines not the only one :(

It's normal DD didn't crawl until 9 months, didn't stand until 10 months and didn't walk until after her first birthday. Kids develop differently.

Every kid is different.

DD didn't start crawling until 10 months, didn't walk until 15 months, didn't sit up that well till after 6 months. She rolled pretty early but that's all she did for the longest time. Now she is 2.5 and way ahead of other kids her age physically and learning wise.

Don't take this the wrong way, but does he have a big head? lol.

My daughter's head is ginormous. huge. and at 8 months, she could BARELY sit unassisted, and I was pretty concerned, so I talked to her doctor, she asked if I wanted to know the truth, I said of course I did.. her exact words to me were "Well, she has a really big head, and gravity's a b***h."

Thank god! I feel like I'm messing up seeing everyone else and they ask "Is Rory __________ yet?" And its like a defeated head hang of shame and a "No, not yet."

You said it yourself. Every baby is different. My son was slower. He didnt crawl until 8 months and was walking at 9 after he had tubes. He had constant fluid in his ears that made his stability hard. My 9 month old daughter though has been crawling since 6 months, pushes her puppy walker, has taken her first unassisted step.

If you are worried its never a bad idea to bring it up to your pedi

So he is a butt scooter? Crawling on hands and knees makes it easier to pull up to stand. This was the problem DD had. We used to put fun stuff/contraband like cell phones and remotes, up on the couch to entice DD to pull up and even show her how.

I know the feeling. My oldest was walking great by 10 months everything else was super early too. My second will be 1 the end if the month and she still isn't walking makes me feel like I screwed up somewhere. He sounds perfectly on track and I know you know that deep down.

Not a butt scooter but kind of like a worm LOL. You know how the army guys crawl with their elbows under like the rope nets ... that is how he crawls LOL.

My daughter got it from her daddy too! haha.

It made total sense to me, when her doctor said that. I couldn't imagine having to lug that melon around!

He hits his milestones, but at the last possible moment to be in "normal" range. Seriously like the day before. And then everyone brags about their babies about his age then asks what he does and it's like I can just toss my hands up and all I got is "b***h he could eat your kid under the table and STILL be skinny...." lmao.

ooh the army crawl, a classic :D Try the good stuff up on things to make him want to go up there, then show him he can get up there. He will figure it out on his own, but showing him how to do it can give him a jump start.
