Most doctors dont check unless there is reason to. Some do group b at 36 weeks but others wait until your in labor. Dilation really doesnt mean much anyways. Ive been dilated since 6 months Im now almost 38 weeks 5cm & still no baby...

I think if I knew how dilated I was I'd be more anxious. I'm really glad I don't know and I have at most 3 weeks left of pregnancy before my OB will induce me. 2 weeks if I deliver on my due date. But I'm hoping she comes this weekend :)

It's nice to read that most of you have had the experience of doctors not checking till you are in labor! I felt I was missing out on something not being check yet, and last time I asked about it and she told me they will check when I'm in the hospital in labor. I haven't had any issues or concerns yet (i'm 39 weeks tomorrow) and I was getting jealous of women that got estimates from their doc about baby size, cervix dilation, due date. etc. All I know is how much weight I've gained so far, and my LMP due date. Who knows when my baby will decide to come!
