Do you bleed for a long time after birth? If so how long? Does your periods go back to normal after having a baby? :?:

Can you go here OP. to talk about your account!

You can bleed a short amount of time or you can bleed a significant amount of time.

Did they really not go over this in the hospital before you left??

Yes, you bleed for weeks after giving birth (4-6 weeks normally). As for getting your normal period back- it varies from person to person, whether you breastfeed, whether you go on a heavy diet, etc. Some people never have their periods return to "normal" after giving birth.

I've bled somewhere between 3 and 9 weeks after my babies. The average is probably closer to 4 to 6 weeks though. Then 2 weeks later, you get your first pp period which is also very heavy and gross.

I breastfed my 3 boys and i was one of those 'lucky' ones whose cycle returned at the 6 week mark with 2 of my babies. My 3rd my first period didn't come back until 4 or 5 months pp

I was bleeding for about 4 1/2 weeks after I gave birth. I didn't get my period till 6 months after giving birth and its now been almost 2 months since my period but I was irregular before I got pregnant. Everyone is different some bleed longer than others and some start their period sooner. Also I was told BFing can push back getting your period.

It's different for every birth. I bled for two weeks with my first and then got my regular period back a 6 weeks post pardum. With my second I bled for eight weeks and didn't get my first post pardum period until 13 months later and it never went hack to regular. I had it every 63 days until I got pregnant at 19 months post pardum. But my first was formula fed and my second was breastfed so that makes a big difference with yor pp period. also, I'm not sure if whether or not your have any tearing weighs on your post pardum bleeding but I didn't tear with either and my bleeding was very different from each other.
