When did your LO start smiling? And I don't mean in their sleep.
I've read that smiling in infants have nothing to do with gas. I was talking to DD who is 4 weeks tomorrow & she smiled at me. She's done it a few times if I'm talking to her. Just curious to see what you all think or when your LO started? I can't be bothered to dig our DD1's baby book right now to see when she started lol :)

My son has been smiling since he was a week old, he giggles too. Kind of. I mean, not like laughs but a little hehehe here & there. Lol. He is 3 weeks & 4 days old. He smiles a lot while BF & when I talk to him. I hear they are involuntary, but it just seems like he does it at the perfect moments. :)

Mine pretty much came out of the womb smiling. Doctor tried telling me it was gas smiles at her 1 week, until he was checking her hips and I was talking to her, then she smiled really big. He goes, wow...that was a social smile!

Yeah doc, I know. :)

Mine is 3 weeks and has been giving me little smirks for the past week or so when I talk to her...DH kept telling me she was smiling and I didn't believe him. I told him it was just gas until I saw it for myself. They're not full smiles but you can definitely tell she's happy and it's always in response to one of us talking to/smiling at her.

I've got pictures of DD smiling at 10 hours old and they are when i was talking to her... everyone keeps saying "oh it's gas, she's not actually smiling" but she is sooo aware of everything even at just over 3 weeks old! we blow raspberries on her face and she smiles at us and puts her hands to her face like "oooh leave me alone you guys" haha so cute!
