Mucus plug after stretch and sweep Bailey&Ashlin's Mum 2 kids; New Zealand 882 posts

I see alot of posts about mucus plugs and that they can be different looking.
I had a stretch and sweep yesterday, had cramps and contractions, went to sleep and woke up and think I have been loosing mine. Is it clear white almost snot like? and can have blood in it? Seeing red kind of freaked me out a little but before I go over board was going to see if any other Mums have has this? I never lost my plug or had shows with my 1st son until active labour at the hospital so this is new to me. Ive been crampy again since I have been loosing chunks of it. Is this a good thing? Or should I not get my hopes up? I have a appointment with a obstetrician next week to book and induction date and I really wanna go into labour naturally and avoid induction. Ill be having another stretch and sweep on Mon/Tues.

If there was a bit of blood in it it probably means labor is close. Have you been contracting?

Off and on, woke up and had painful cramps when it started to come out and felt rather bruised in my lower back and tummy, nausea and abit shakey. Im still sore now but contractions are all over the place.

Are you able to time them? Maybe call your midwife and see what she says

Stretch and sweeps are supposed to make you loose mucus and bleeding almost always happens alittle bit afterwards. Loosing your mucus plug is definetly what it sounds like but that doesnt mean labor is for sure soon, people loose their plugs at 30 weeks.... but it sounds like a baby is very close in my opinion!! Did it hurt, the sweep?? How many cms were you already??

I'm in your same situation, I'll be 41 weeks this Tuesday and I was due for the 1st of January. Also have lots of mucus, two days already. Mine is almost a yellowish color, my midwife called and said that was normal but at 41 weeks if my baby doesn't come they will induce me. I also have been experiencing contraction but then they go away.
