Worth an ER trip? (poll) Kait. 3 kids; Iowa 2345 posts

I've had chest pain/pressure - it feels like there's a 100 pound weight on my chest, shortness of breath to the point of blacking/whiting out and passing out, and extreme headaches. I was up throwing up all night (but the flu is going around). The other symptoms have been going on for about a month. Anyway, my doctor told me these things are probably all caused because of my kidney scarring. I don't know if I believe him? ER or second opinion at a regular clinic next week?
Thanks!

I would think if I was blacking out, throwing up, and having extreme chest pain, I'd be in the hospital.

The ER here SUCKS ... I'll have to go an hour away to see a decent doctor, but probably worth it. Nothing helps :(

That's pretty much what happens when I have anxiety attacks. The wait in my ER is usually about 6 hours so the ER would be a no-go for me. I don't really know your situation though so it's hard to say.

It's every day, all day. At times it's worse than other times, but the pain/pressure is always present. The shortness of breath has been going on for over a month so I'm assuming it's not life threatening or anything because here I am.

An hour sucks? lol

When I was a kid I got hurt in an animal attack, and waited in the ER for 7 hours before I got in, lol.

Do you have any walk in clinics you can go to?

I called around and none of them take chest pain walk-ins. They'll send me to the ER. There is usually no wait around here for the ER, because they suck.
