You guys I'm sorry! I still haven't counted points from my last two trivias and I didn't post trivia this week. I haven't answered in two weeks either. I just don't think I'm going to be able to keep up any more. I thought I'd have time when my class finished, which was yesterday. But... I'm officially a teacher! I got a job yesterday teaching 11th grade English. So this month I've got a lot of trainings and meetings to go to, plus I've got to get my classroom and lesson plans started, and today is my son's birthday party. So I just don't think I'm gonna be able to keep up :(

It's 16-17 year olds. We go up to 12th grade here and those are 17-18 year olds. (If you graduate on time.)

Yep! Although if her 11th grade curriculum is anything like mine was when I was in high school (and it varies from state to state and from school district to school district even) mine was all about American History. So we had American Literature and American History that year for our English and Social Studies classes.

It would have to be better than shakespear and the great gatsby. we had to do them the last couple of years in school, along with a host of morbid poetry by emily dickenson and patrick kavanagh.

I can't remember what grade we did Gatsby in. But we did Shakespeare every other freaking year. I was SUPER excited not to have to do Shakespeare in 11th grade. Lol. 3 out of 4 years was plenty. I think we did Poe in 9th grade. I could be off on that. The grades really seem to run together 10-14 years later. Lol.

Boo that you are leaving us.

Anyone know when we are taking our next break?

Yep, it's American lit. All I know for sure is The Crucible, The Scarlet Letter, and The Great Gatsby. I'll get my pacing guide and all that jazz not this coming week but the next week.

I actually wanted to do 9th grade so I could do intro to Shakespeare and Romeo and Juliet lol. I found out after I already had my interview scheduled that one of my good friends from high school is going to be teaching 9th grade English at the same school as me, so we'll be together :) I'm pretty excited!
