ok mamas i need some help and advice! How did you transition from formula to whole milk? My son is a little over 11 months and were tryin to transition him to whole milk. I have tried giving it to him by itself and he spits it out. Ive tried to do half and half whole milk and formula and he spits that out. Ive even tried to put a drop of chocolate syrup ( not alot) and still nope! How did you mamas do this? TIA

I just switched, one cup formula the next cup milk, he was okay with it. But if your LO doesn't like cows milk, have you considered trying other milks? The only milk we drink in this house is almond milk, it has more calcium than cows milk & it's healthier for you. All of the hormones they pump into the cows, can't be good for anybody to drink.

My daughter was breastfed so slightly different. I didn't start trying to give her whole milk until she weaned at 2, she wanted nothing to do with it :/ I tried putting ovaltine in it (powdered chocolate milk) its so much better for them than nestle or chocolate syrup because it's full of vitamins. She loves that and will drink it but I don't like her to have it too often so I was looking for a way to get her to drink plain milk. I ended up giving her some of my almond milk (I'm lactose intolerant) and she loved that. Maybe try it with your son? It's really good and has more calcium than regular milk

My LO was breastfed but we had to dilute the breastmilk with cow's milk to get him to drink it. We started out with 1 oz cow's milk and 5 oz breastmilk, then after a few days upped it to 2oz cow's and 4 oz bm, and so on until he drank it straight. I continued to nurse him for a few more months after that.

I just started with putting a couple oz of whole milk in the bottle, and slowly upped the milk and decreased the formula as she got used to it. My daughter hated milk also to start with, and now she only gets whole milk and loves it!

I suggest whole milk first and if that doesn't work, try almond milk. I'd mix though to slowly switch baby over. Too quick of a switch could upset baby's tummy.
