Just curious if anything helped you stay foucused away from the pain during labor? I want to try an Epi free delivery this time so I'm just curious!

Thanks ladies!

Also is the "ring of fire" really bad? I didn't feel it with my son lol

Visualisation and breathing got me through two natural births, good luck.

The pregnancy ball I loved that thing I could move around which made the pain much better. Moving around in general helps at least for me it did.

Honestly nothing. I just did it and it hurt really really really bad, but it was over before I knew it.

With our first, was natural hospital birth, my husband kept me focused. I stared into his eyes the entire time, and he kept whispering to me how great I was doing. Second labor was a home water birth, my husband annoyed me then for some reason. I actually told him "yeah yeah, will you please sush now?" It was our toddler and midwife that kept me focused then.

I won't lie crowning did hurt a lot for me. Pushing was a relief, then there was a big stinging feeling as they crowned. Fortunately, that part goes pretty fast, then they both slipped out and were in my arms.Having a baby put on my chest made me forget all about the pain pretty quickly. With our second our midwives also gave me a postpartum bath with herbs, felt wonderful!

Lol you should expect pain. There is no escaping it but you have to learn to cope with it as best as you can. My first birth was with an epi and 18.5 hrs I only felt pain when crowning and since it was the first time i gave birth it was painful as ever. The 2nd and 3rd time was natural drug free. The 2nd hurt the entire freaking entire time. Worse pain I ever experienced in my life. NOTHING helped with those 9.5 hrs of back labor but to push him out. My third birth was 7.5 hours and i just let myself drift off and for some reason it did not hurt as bad but the pushing out and crowning part was worse of all 3 births. When it comes time to push give it your all and do not hold back no matter how much it hurts because that is the final stage and the sooner there out the sooner you can breathe a sigh of relief.im due with baby # 4 in may so im planning to do all natural again and im goin to have all 3 of my kids, hubby and mom in my rm they will be helping me focus. I will try to forget the pain and numb myself and push like a mad woman when it is time to push lol.
