Preterm labor?! Baby_Majick 52 kids; Sullivan, Missouri 4031 posts

I had pelvic pain last night like period cramps. I laid down and right before I fell asleep I kept getting contractions, and a pressure that felt like I had to go to the bathroom, well after laying there awhile I ended up falling asleep in pain. I woke up seem fine, and then it started again. I laid down for an hour got back up seem fine, until a few minutes ago, I got extreme pressure in my back side almost like I have to go to the bathroom but I don't... if I try moving off the couch the pressure is unbearable. Should I be worried?! I have not lost my mucus plug or anything like that.... so I didn't think I had to worry but this pressure is crazy! I don't need to go to the bathroom either... so I know it's not that.

I get that way just by laying in bed. I can be fine but five minutes laying down I am in a lot of pain. I wake up and the pain is gone. If I got to the bathroom and get back into bed the pain comes back. I don't think my baby likes me laying down.

I have not lost my mucus plug nor has my water broke so I just deal with the best I can.

Good luck.

To me it sounds like the baby may just be really low. If it is labor it wouldn't go away. I went in to labor at 33.3 wks and had to take meds to postpone it. I was told that if they are not in a pattern or constant then it is only bad BH, and pressure from the baby being low.

Sounds like you need to be seen. If you wanna start with laying on your left side and drinking a pitcher of water you could since you are likely dehydrated, but I would recommend going in

My mother in law said this was how her labor was... the feeling of going to the bathroom and such.... I first called the OB in my hometown but when I talked to my mother in law I decided to call my regular OB and they want me to come in... every one said it sounds like preterm labor.

With your history I would just go in and forget what they say you need to wait for. With previous preterm births they should be asking you to come in at the slightest hint that you may be in labour let alone asking you to wait longer to see if it's real.
