Quoting JiLLiAN.:" why is she being induced already? also due dates can be off by up to 2 weeks. so they may be inducing her and she could be only 36 1/2 weeks.."

Because she has been monitored like crazy. She has been seeing the doctor once a week for the last 6 weeks and going to the hospital to be monitored once a week for the last 6 weeks. My nephew was 7 lbs 2 oz on New Years Eve. And she has been having contractions Since New Years Day. When she went to her doctor on Thursday They decided they were going to induce her at 39 weeks. Which will be Tuesday.

Suck it up, buttercup! you signed up for 38-42 weeks. you're not getting that baby out until it's damn good and ready.

March of the Dimes has a commercial out now that talks about how inducing before 39weeks is extremely dangerous. The babies brain isn't even fully done growing.
I wouldn't induce yourself. Sadly, pregnancy sucks. That is just how it is.

Some babies don't even come until 42 weeks. Hell, My friend delivered hers naturally, at home, at 43 weeks a long. Her baby was only 7lbs something too. Not large at all...Had she induced herself weeks earlier her baby could have been underweight.

I wish I would of saved this paper I got from the nurse.

It was comparing two footprints of a baby born at 37 weeks and one born at 40 weeks. You would be amazed in the difference of size between the two. Same with the brain. A babies brain grows twice as large from 37 weeks to 40 weeks. That is a lot of growing they do those last couple of weeks!

yeah it really is. Many woman don't seem to understand how dangerous inductions can be when done to early. Granted natural inductions don't really work anyway which is imo a good thing.

okay being COMPLETELY honest, i have tried everything. lots of sex( i have my own house & i got a hotel for my husband and i) nipple stimulation(pumped almost 4 ounces of MILK) castor oil(pooped a lot, got a little crampy but they did stop.., dancing(like a crazy prego, very funny to watch, washed my floors on my hands and knees, rasberry leaf tea, primrose oils and walking every single day for hours. NOTHING has worked and i'm 3 cm and 60% effaced..Next i'm getting my membrains stripped lets pray it works like it did with my first!!

Goodluck, and i hope you get the baby out don't listen to negativity every pregnancy is diff.

Quoting Daniella Lifshine:" Hii my name is Daniella im 38 weeks pregnant and want this baby out asap my back snapped and i can barely ... [snip!] ... there is any effective ways to get this process going. I have tried sex, squatting, walking, yoga, and none of that has worked."

This is my first pregnancy but I have asked my doc the same question cause I can barely move, can't sleep... I have a very hard time breathing and I can barely stand due to my feet being swollen. But, I am way smaller than most people having baby's so my little angel is growing faster than my body can handle. Which is why I am being induced on your due date.
