She is a cat that we found in a parking lot in September. She was about 4 weeks old when I found her. When she came home, we let our 4 year old name her....

Her choice?

Cinderella Hokey pokey.

As time went on, it clearly became obvious that she is my girl. She is soooo bonded to me. I just love this little kitten.

But I hate her name. My 4 year old doesn't seem to have a lot of interest in her now anyways.

Is it too late to change her name?

I really hate that stupid name.

I want to name her Cricket, because she sounds like one when she purs :D

What do you think?

My friend got a dog that was about a year old and had the same name as her cat she had for about 15 years. She changed his name and it seemed to stick since she still calls him that 10 years later.

One of our cats had a horrible name (that I can't even remember...) and we changed it to mama last year after she had kittens. I think with a cat it's not a big deal

I let my kids name all the pets that we get and we had a cat named Popcorn and now a dog named Edward and when we were fostering puppies they were named Batman and Joker. I don't like the names but I told them they could choose... I think it might hurt your daughters feelings if you changed it

I say change it. My cat pretty much responds to any name I call him as long as it is in the right tone of voice.

I just tested her, and she ignored me,

But that could just be her being a cat, haha.

Lol that name is great. Yeah, I think you could change it. We called our kitten Lola for about 3 months until Lola's p***s came out. He's now Lolly.

Maybe if you're afraid of hurting DDs feelings just start calling her cricket and if dd asks just say its her nickname :)
