My son is 7 months old and I have not gotten him the flu shot yet because I think he is too young and because the flu shot scares me. As far as the flu shot goes do you think the risks out weigh the benefits and is 7 months too young. I'm scared since there is a flu outbreak in our town. I take all the precautions so he won't get sick I'm just really scared.

Honestly they say anybody over 6 months can get it so no he isn't too young. Secondly if there is already an outbreak I highly doubt it will help him not get the flu since it takes a while to build up and he would have to have TWO shots since it is his first time getting them.

I didn't get it and most of my co-workers did and they got sick. I wouldn't get it.

I think it might be a little late.. The shot doesn't start working immediately, and he needs 2 shots, spaced out. Not just 1.

And future reference. If you want to get him the shot next year, get it at the beginning of the season :)

I think they started giving shots in september or october here.

They started in Sept here because we got both of the kids' at A's 2 year appt. :) But yeap Sept. and Oct is usually when places get them! :)

Its not too late yet, peak isnt until mid february/early march. takes about 2 weeks to fully set in
