I have a 40 month old, a almost 16 month old and I am 36 weeks pregnant with number three.
Our 16 month old has been in the nursery but we decided we wanted to move him into a room with his brother (the 3y/o). The first night he did okay (he ended up falling asleep on the floor =\ sigh), then he spent the night back in the nursery, and now we are trying again... its going TERRIBLE.
Hes crying, screaming, banging on the door. I keep checking on him and hes fine (aside from his melt down) and I just dont know what to do.
He could have his own room and sleep in his toddler bed but i dont think that would help anything at all considering hed be in a new room completely alone.
How can I go about the transition without causing him so much stress and upset?
Im torn between CIO and not letting him CIO.

When my son was that age I remember having a better routine than I do now. I would do snack/milk, bath, and then books. I would lay him down while I read to him and rub his back. It took awhile sometimes and other times it took only 15 minutes, but bedtime was less stressful for both of us if he would fall asleep with me next to him. Good luck. :( I was never good at CIO.

I was wondering if maybe he just isnt old enough to sleep with his brother/in his toddler bed yet...I guess we may just need to leave gim in tue nursery a while longer. We wanted to move him since his brother will be born soon but it may be better to let him stay in the nursery until we move our third into the nursery. I just don't want him to feel kicked out of there...
