I don't know if i have advice, but i wish you luck!
A few years ago, well, when i was 19ish, I had left my boyfriend of the time for a girl that i was really serious about, and out of anger he texted my mom, er..."telling on me"?
Next time i saw my mom she asked me if there was anything i wanted to talk about and that she hopes i'm comfortable sharing anything with her/them. (she was kinda emotional over it)

So we talked about it, they accepted everything. The relationship only lasted 6 months, ha, but still.

I grew up with gay uncles 'n my parents had a lot of gay friends so it was never a 'weird' thing in my family.

Hopefully it's something that feels big in anticipation, but will just be a relief for everyone to know 'n be able to be open about when you're ready.

Are you afraid of the reaction, hun? Or just don't know how to do it? <3

SOOOOOO off topic but I LOVE Syracuse! When my uncle was in the Army, he was staying in Chamont. If I remember correctly, Copper Top Stables is in Syracuse :-)

ETA I was wrong. It was Cape Vincent...Syracuse is where the walmart is LOL
OP, If you need someone to talk to, feel free to PM

Hmm.

Is it because you've heard them speak negatively about other people, or just because it's your family so you have that fear in the back of your mind?

What I would say is... tell the people you feel most comfortable with, first, if you don't want to tell everyone at once. Maybe them knowing will give you reassurance and some support to tell the people you're more nervous about, if you feel you need to tell everyone.

Hell, if you're really nervous, does writing things down help you?

<3 So much love, hun.

Kinda. It's partly hearing them say things. It's just we aren't the closest right now so I don't think it would take much to break up. :(

Hmm, I don't think I've heard of that... but Chamont is near Watertown/Fort Drum, about an hour away! :)

It's really pretty in upstate NY.... though Syracuse isn't the nicest city, IMO. hahaha there are nice parts. :P The less populated areas are the really pretty ones!

I hear you. Do you live near them? Is their opinion something that you really take to heart, or you just feel like it's important for yourself that you tell them? <3

I'm sorry if I'm asking so many questions... I know it's much easier to say "just say it" than it is to do that.

Oh I know. I've been telling DH that I really wanna move up there. We talked about it a few years ago but never really did anything but talk :/ I loved it up there... I would give up everything here in TX other then my Kids DH and animals to live there. We drove all the way there and it was a blast. Until we had to go home hahaha. Time to start talking about it again LOL

I live with them! I'll probably be out of here by fall so if we are broken that's not a lot of time to repair it.

Haha! Where in NY would you want to move? :) Lots of snow up here! I love NY, though I'm not great with the cold even though I've lived here my whole life.

Ohhh, I see.

Awh. I wish I could just give you a hug. Do you have any friends that could be with you when you told them for support?

Chamont, Lyme, Cape Vincent, somewhere in that general direction. When we started to head home, we almost stayed with my uncle just so we could live there... I love the cold. Much better then the heat...How about we trade houses! You live in TX where the weather is either cold or hot and I'll live there LMFAO
