Sharks: Kill or Not? ♥ in 32 kids; Matosinhos, Portugal 1495 posts

Imagine there was a beach that was always full of people, families, children, so on. And suddenly a shark threat started to come up. Let's say officers and such were aware there was a living and deadly shark in the ocean, swimming where people were.

Is it ok to kill the shark to save the lives of so many people? How would they scare him away?

Or is it very wrong to kill the shark since it is on its own habitat?

- If you say it's wrong because it's in his own habitat, let's recognize that, if a shark came to the shore, by accident, and was struggling to go back to the water, since it's in our OWN habitat too, we could cruely torture it like it does to humans, right? Just sayin'..

Sharks don't knowingly attack humans.
The best plan would to be capture and relocate the shark.

I don't think we should kill it. People should just not go in that water. And it is not okay to torture it even if it was on shore. It is an animal. It is not a murderer that goes out with the intent to kill people it had instinctual reasons to do this. You can't hold a shark to the same standards as humans.

No don't kill it, sharks aren't likely to attack humans, and when they do its usually because they think you are something else. I say the humans should find another beach. We have no right to kill something because we want to play.

And as for the last scenerio, really? That question doesn't really deserve an answer. Especially when we are depleting the sharks in the ocean faster than they can breed.

Why would you kill the shark? If there's a shark don't go in the water.

I lived in FL growing up if you see a shark you get out of the water.

No I wouldn't want to cruelly torture it :? It's not like sharks do that to us on purpose it's just in their nature if they were to see a human leg splashing around it would try to eat it. Now if it were to come up close to the water and there were a bunch of people swimming around I would want them to save the people even if that meant killing the shark but not torture it.

eta: I think I'm a little confused by your questions. I have heard of sharks coming up almost to the shores and killing people and in that instance I would probably try to kill it if it my child or something (if I could) But if there was just a shark coming up to the shore and everyone had time to get out of there then no do not kill it. This was just an odd question...

Coming from someone who is petrified of both sharks and the ocean I would say don't go in the water and you'll be fine, but I would be fine if the shark was killed, but if it didn't cause any harm, like attack anyone then I would say just capture and relocate it. They could also tag it and track where the shark goes.

No, don't kill the shark. Why would anyone kill it because it couldn't find its way back into the water? If a shark came on to shore, I would hope the humans would have common sense to get the f**k away from it until the situation was handled. A human moves faster than a shark on land.

I kind of figure it is common knowledge that sharks swim in the ocean, if you are swimming, you are taking a risk.

Exactly. Humans are disgusting.

YOU are in THEIR habitat. It is up to you to get out of there, not for you to kill it for being in its own home so that you can invade it.
