They just dont see a reason for me to get a job at all since they're paying for it and they think i have too much on my plate. I've already had a job before and i don't care much for spending money.

U should look into work study at ur school.u can get a job at ur school and sometimes there are jobs at off campus sites that will help u.have u applied for state child care or welfare?they can help u with ur school expenses, help u find a place to get out of ur situation and pay for child care.if u really want to work to have money in ur pocket.there are lots of resources for teen moms u need to go speak with a social worker ASAP.

you like having to ask everytime you or your child needs/wants something?

Quoting Maddie F:" Thank you(: I just don't want to keep adding to it, and the only reason i'd take them up on the offer ... [snip!] ... offer is just because i dont want my daughter growing up seeing her grandparents fight 24/7 and seeing them come home drunk. "

Honey, you have to do what's best for your daughter, even at the expense of your own pride. This environment at your parent's house doesn't seem like a stable, nurturing one, which is what she needs. Just food for thought. :)

Can you get food stamps, or cash assistance so you can try and help out a little?
I'd look into volunteer opportunities (I don't know what your major is) so it'll look better when you do plan on looking for a job, so you have something to add since you won't have a work history.

i would take whatever help from your grandparents and here is why. you sould like you really are wanting to better yourself. you are going to college. get the apartment help from them. wright down everything they spend on you. get financial aid and loans and pay off your debts. try to only owe one person. once you get a degree and get a good job your grandparents will be honored that they helped you.

Doesn't seem like she really has a choice at this. You keep harping on every little thing. It's easier to pick at petty little things when it's not you in this type of situation.

I think she meant that she doesn't care for spending money on herself.

So she's basically not allowed to spend with her grand baby? She should dump that guy

just to clarify, OP seems upset that she knows her mom WANTS to spend time with her granddaughter, but instead chooses to party with her boyfriend and act like an irresponsible fool. sorry if the "irresponsible fool" seems a bit harsh, but that's exactly what it sounds like.

i'm sorry you're in this current situation, OP. it really sounds like it sucks. it is, on the other hand, amazing that your grandparents are giving you this opportunity. i would kill for that chance! just stay focused on school for now and taking care of your sweet DD. some day, all the sacrifices will be worth it and you two will be so much better off.

I would be hurt if my parents didn't want to spend time with my baby. Why harp on this poor girl, she's in college trying to make herself better for her baby. She isn't just sitting around being lazy. Try showing a little bit of compassion for others once in a while instead of being overly critical.

Thank you! I wasn't even looking for advice, it was a vent post. VENT. Not advice. I already stated to everyone that i have in fact applied for cash assistance, food stamps, etc. I think you can put some one down for just about any situation they're in and that's exactly what most people do, they find something they don't agree on and decide to pick at that one thing without taking into consideration everything else they have stated. Thank you everyone who has supported me and just talked about it with me<3 I just wanted to vent and have some other moms to talk to. I know my life and I know what options i have available.
