If you sold a lot of stuff on ebay and have a perfect rating... then some a*****e states "this item was used I want a refund," would you do it? When the item was NOT used?
I am thinking that this person bought something for themselves and realized it didnt work/fit and wanted to return it. It is a TV antenna that for some reason my stepdads Mom sent us. It has NEVER been used. We don't need it... so I sold it. The person who bought it said "This item has been visibly used so I want a refund."
Seriously... the thing has NEVER been freaking used, lol! My Mom said if they send it back and it shows proof of wear she will give the money back. I wanted to say to hell with them, it was new, in box, we have never used it, and they say it's visibly used?
We are thinking they bought it, thinking it would work and then when it didnt fit their TV or work the way they wanted they wanted to return it. I have a 100% positive feedback on ebay and have NEVER had a problem with anyone. Would you just refund the money to appease them, or would you tell them to get bent?
I wish I could say get bent... seriously Im pissed that someone would say its visibly used when the damn thing is new!
I'd just refund them to keep your ratings up. I don't sell on eBay, but I do work with sellers on Amazon.com on occasion.

You have to be careful because some people lie or they send back their old item and say its what u sent. eBay has always gone against the seller and given the buyer their money back. People lied about my dad and ruined his feedback and he got screwed he also had to put out the return shipping even though he post straight up stated no returns.. But eBay and changing and they now have seller protection as well, I would try writing ebay and asking them what you can do. Sorry this happened to you.
I've had lots of problems with "new" unused items on eBay. I'd refund. Most of ours were visibly used and did not work at all. Mainly scratched DVDs. The 100% positive people were always really helpful and nice about it too.
Ask for proof. Have them send you pictures of the wear. Someone did that to me with an iphone when we asked for pictures we never heard back from them.

They sent a message asking us to refund the money and then immediately opened a case. My Mom already sent a message today telling them to ship it back with delivery confirmation. I told her she shouldnt of done anything, but she said our rating is good and didnt want to mess with it. Thats what sucks... ebay taking the word of the buyer. Yet we are extremely truthful in what we sell... I have sold many many many items and have never had a bad feedback. The only thing I was ever marked down for was someone pissed that we charged like 8 for shipping when the price was like 6.95. We try to approximate shipping, but really.... 1.05 caused someone to b***h.
Oh well. I just cant stand people who arent truthful. Oh yeah, one day someone bitched that it took like 2 weeks for an item to get to them. It was in the holidays and we shipped the next day, of which we had proof. Thats not our fault.... but he made it seem like we should know why USPS is taking so long.
Argh people make me mad! I dont want to ruin my rating but god dammit I know I was in the right!!!
We state no returns as well. We take plenty of pictures to show that it's in the condition that it is in. Ebay needs to take more action against people like this!!!

They can still leave feedback even after its refunded.

If I were you, I'd escalate the case to eBay and let them be the judge. I had a guy try and make me refund him $140 when his package was "lost" when he denied the insurance and signature confirmation. eBay took my side, they don't always side with buyers. If you had pictures of all angles, you have nothing to worry about, I'd go for it. And yes they can still leave feedback after it's been refunded.

I was selling DVD's online, Someone brought like 5 of them and then afterwards was all "oh combine my postage"
I was selling them really cheap, and I was basically making little money at all.
So basically I said no, if you don't want to pay the amount you bid on.. you can't have them.
Anyway she paid me... I sent the dvd's and I was able to combine like 2 of them.
She didn't even talk to me, and then lodged a claim with pay pal saying she never got them. I had recently sent 200 dvd's the exact same way with NO issues..
So I fought her via pay pal, just stated my case showed them the history and I won.
I would personally fight it.. How much money we talking here?

Its not much. Like 30 bucks. Its just the principle of the matter. I ALWAYS ship with delivery confirmation and such so no one can claim it wasnt sent. But everything was in new condition. I always take pics of high value items and how it was shipped... now im wondering if I should do that with everything to cover my ass.
If it was me, I would fight it.
If you have a very good track record and history with ebay/pay pal.. you'll win.
I hate people like that. I'm an Ebay buyer and if I buy something and it doesn't fit, I generally find that to be my fault and still leave good feedback for the seller.
Some people are never happy with anything and some people feel like the world owes them something. I don't fully understand why people lie about things. If it didn't work, why not just contact the seller and see if they can ship it back and get refunded?
Oh, right. Because that's what makes sense.
