A nurse and I noticed DS is tongue tied. I do believe he lactches on just fine since it diesnt hurt but I'm not sure if he is sucking right. I don't ever hear him swallowing and I'm not sure he has peed yet (he is 24 hours old).all his diapers had opoop though. He's been on the b**b for 2 hours straight now. If I take him off because he fell a sleep he wakes up right away and cries. The nurse is coming in to weigh him soon and I'm nervous. Am I just crazy?

I don't know what the question is, but DD was tongue tied, but could latch. She was a lazy eater and fell asleep on the b**b a lot.

The lactation consultant at my hospital said that my son was tongue tied. He was not! The latch was hard at first but once we got that down everything was great. 14 months later and we are still breast feeding. You guys can do it! I'm sure if your newborn Is latching on correctly he is getting milk. And you're totally not crazy, my baby was constantly on the b**b until about 3 months old. They need it more often because breast milk is lower in calories but much more nutritious than formula. I could hardly ever put him down and I always smelled like milk. But it happens so fast before its done :( good luck to you!

DS seems to take lots of breaks but stays latches. I guess it is a little more work when tongue tied. Basically I want toknow how I can tell if he is or isn't getting any colostrum. I don't hear him swallowing so im paranoid lol. And even after him being on one b**b for 45 minutes I can still easilyhand express quite a bit of colostrum
