You'll need this lens since that camera body doesn't have an autofocus motor in it. For Nikons always look for the ones that say AF-S as opposed to AF.
And I dislike zoom lenses. haha. I use primes all the time (one focal length.) The primes usually have a wider aperture that gives you more depth of field. (bokeh, or the blurred background.)
