Just wondering, what happens if someone needs a c section? How much does that cost?

Quoting lolajessup:" Luckily my girls get Medicaid because Michigan doesn't let children go uninsured."

My daughter is on medicaid too, I tried because my work's insurance is just too high, but if you work you can't get it.

IN legally approves children under 18 for medicaid so my girls are all covered. I am as well. If your child isn't insured, you should totally look into state coverage.

The hospital here does financial assistance. You have to fill out some paperwork then depending on how low your income is you could end up paying 50%, 25%, or nothing at all. I have had to go once since I have been without insurance and ended up not having to pay. I'm also on BP meds that are right around $16 a month and I can just pay for that because it isn't too awful much, I have to see my primary doctor every 12 months about my BP meds and that visit is only $60. DD gets medicaid, but they told me I wasn't qualified since I was over 18 and not disabled, so I just deal with it because all the insurance plans we've looked at, we can't really afford right now.

No I just went to the office and applied. I had to have my lease, check stubs, bank statements and all that.

Holy moley!!

I go through private. It cost me $250 for my excess and maybe a $2000 fee for my private obstetrician.

If I had gone through the usual hospitals it would have been free
