Idk every state is diff. In mi it's so easy. We never have to show proof of income or anything. We just fill out a little 3 page application with all your info and income info. If you're over income they just charge you like $15 a month. It's called chip.

Must be nice to have this free wonderful medicaid! I would like to know how I can get my child on if my employer provides insurance...Do you have to be below poverty or what?? She is the one who drives my premiums and deductibles out of control! I have learned to do without- some of you should learn how that feels. I do have an employee clinic that takes care of minor complaints and I have found a children's clinic run by my employer ironically-but it's only open two days a week but I try to get by with as much free stuff as I can....I should move to Michigan sounds like a wonderful state! This country is a mess and I am ashamed to live in place that doesn't take care of it's people and lets them suffer..

In IN, I believe they'd cover children regardless of income.

Why should I learn how it feels to do without?

Yeah they can cover your LO even if it's offered at work. You may need to be in a certain income bracket. But if the amount is rediculus ive heard of people getting Medicaid. Or getting it as a supplement to cover company's and deductible payments. But you'd have to ask in MN. In WA we got it for dd we just had to pay $15 a month cause we were over the income limit.

Idk if u can see this, I'd not just go to insurekidsnow.gov and choose your state to see their program details.

They either don't pay it, their parents do, they are covered on their parents insurance or they get Medicaid. I get pregnancy Medicaid. My husband has it for 1 year transitional time since he was unemployed for a few months and the kids get it. This is the first medical care he's had access to in 5 years.

We just had to apply for assistance with me beig hospitalized and unable to work for so long. And they said SO might finally get Medicaid. He's been insurance less for 12 yrs :( its awful. My biggest fear is he's gonna have cancer that's spread through his body because of lack of access to medical care. :(

I actually get a discount at my clinic. I pay 20 bucks for visits and 20% on meds. It's nice but if I need a specialist, I have to pay full price.
If its an emergency, well it's bad to say, but I don't pay. I can't afford it.
