**Repost**
For the last 4 days DS is pretty much refusing to eat. The first two days he still ate a decent amount of food, so I just chalked it up to a growth spurt, and him teething. Well the last two days he is barely eating anything at all. He will only eat maybe 4 bites of food at a time. His favorite breakfast is oatmeal and a banana, well he completely refused the oatmeal, and only ate 2 bites of the banana (which is his all time favorite food). Yesterday I tried eggs, and he only ate maybe 3 bites of that. His favorite lunch is a PB&J, so I made that yesterday, and he didnt even eat half of it. He is completely refusing his snacks, and his veggies. At this point he is only eating about 1/3 of his dinner. He keeps telling me "all done" and crying if I try to feed him. I obviously cant force feed him, but I'm getting pretty worried. He has way less energy since he wont eat, which means he is tired and cranky, although he is sleeping normal. He is still drinking plenty of water, and doesnt seem dehydrated. I just feel like I'm not doing my job, and I am completely desprate to get him to eat. I even got pizza yesterday because he loves it, and he didnt even eat half a slice. He has a well child visit in 5 days, so if I dont wanna take him in unless I have to. Does anyone know whats going on, or how I can get him to eat?

Offer him more milk to make up for the calories and maybe he's teething or something. If he is hungry he will eat.

Its a completely normal kid phase. They go through them off and on throughout toddler hood.

Sounds normal to me. Kids have periods where they won't eat anything and then before you know it you can't get them to stop eating. I wouldn't worry.

When you say he has less energy, is he laying around acting punky? If so he is probably dealing with a minor bug. It really wouldn't be due to him taking in less food - it would likely be a 2nd symptom along with less eating. He wouldn't reduce his calorie intake randomly to the point it makes him sluggish.

Just keep an eye out for any more symptoms & otherwise ride it out. Both my kids did this on & off, but they were still nursing regularly so I never paid it much mind, since they were getting fats & calories that way as well. I am sure some of it was times they were fighting off a minor bug or getting a tooth or any of the other things they go through in those early months & years. Mine would actually go through days at that age where they refused ALL solids & would only nurse...so I am betting it was under similar circumstances. It is frustrating, but it will most likely pass in a day or two.

He is teething, and has a very low grade fever (probably from the teething). Other than that and having less energy, being very cranky, and being more snuggley, he is acting normal. I figured it was a mix of him teething, and a growth spurt, but he has never gone this long with eating this little. He wont drink milk either. All he will take is water. Its really frusterating, especially because today he started telling me he is hungery, then I try to feed him, he eats two bites, and says he is all done, or he chews it up and spits it out. I just dont feel like I know what to do for him at this point. Its making me emotional lol.

It is like they either don't eat or they eat you out of house and home!

My son does this when he is sick or teething but worse. He won't even really take bites of anything. I'll be lucky to get him to eat 3 small bites of something a day when he's like that.
