okay I have THIS crock pot..
Crock-Pot-Countdown-Slow-Cooker.jpg
when mine is on HIGH like it has been now for hours, it doesnt simmer or anythign or making any bubble like things.. I am making potatoe soup and cut up the potatoes in it in pretty small chunks to cook faster and they are still hard as a rock, im gonna end up pouring into a pan and boiling it stove top.. Is this right? I mean I just cook pork tenderloin in it the other day and apple sauce but those cooked over night and the other one cooked for like 12 hours. so it would of cooked eventually that long in it... i just dont know if I should try to get a new one?

I think I have the same one. Crockpots take a really long time, that's the point. It's not suppose to bubble or anything.

I have this one:

And it bubbles the f**k out of stuff if I put it on high. I have to cook everything on low.
I'd just let it keep going and see if they cook through...but it might be on it's last leg.

I have what you call a slow cooker. I dont know if is any different than a crock pot. I rarely use it. I find the oven and stove more convinient and faster. I need to learn more about cooking things in the slow cooker. I just got it as a gift for christmas.

I have the opposite problem. Mine runs too hot and I've overlooked my food a couple times.

I have this crock pot. It starts to simmer a full pot of chili after about 4 hours on high and then boils at about 6 hours on high. It will only simmer stuff on low. I love it and the inside come out of the heating part to store stuff over night and for easier cleaning. Yours sounds like something MIGHT be wrong with it.

A slow cooker is the type of cooker, crockpot is just a brand of slow cooker.
