It's very dangerous to do any repairs yourself.
It's alot safer to call the company who made it and see if they have a kit to fix it.

Question: Is the crib safe to use as long as baby isn't moving around in it?
My dads trying to convince me that its okay until baby starts moving and i'm not really believing him.

Since drop side cribs, in general, aren't really safe - I wouldn't use a drop side crib that is broken.

Yeah i don't want to use it either.
We do have another crib that was brought to us also, but i think it's older and its also a drop side.
